Everyone complains about speed and you guys want a slower Okposo.
- Elite Josh Allen

Never really watched Boeser play other than highlights, would not mind Okposos speed if hes putting up a ppg pace....

I'd take a full 12 Okposo's if they're putting up 22 in 23 games. Problem with the OG Okposo is he does nothing beyond make smart defensive plays. Other than that he is utterly useless

Buffalo, Cleveland or Green Bay but GB has a lot of cap work to do. But could be the reason he is taking his time to give them a chance to do that.

Olo is going to be 26, he is who he is at this point.
To expect some drastic increases 5 on 5 production is not something that should be expected IMO.

The issue is if hes not playing with Eichel, or a top center, he will be even more useless 5 on 5.

I've never seen anything like this.

- ImThatGuy

Even in his great year in the SHL where he scored 24/13/37 in 43 games, 54% of G's were on the PP (13 OF 24)...so 46% then at EV.
In Buffalo, Olo is 26% at EV.

Compare to prolific PP Goal scorers...
-Ovi = 66% at EV
-Pasternak = 64% at EV
-Stamkos = 62% at EV
-Kucherov = 74% at EV
-Liane = 62% at EV
-Kane = 72% at EV

I see a difference.

https://dobberprospects.c.../shl-report-february-2018

Nothing wrong with making the team's PP among the best in the League.
But to dispute that right now he is anything more than A PP Specialist who isn't very good at the 5v5 (yet?) Is disingenuous, IMO of course.

The guy who is playing at a ppg pace and is only 23 years old (turns 24 tomorrow) is a lot different than the boat anchor that Okposo is at 32 (that will be 33 in April)

A) I'm not as down on Risto as you are, so there's a difference. I think he brings certain things to a lineup that we sorely lack, and it's not as if he's (frank)ing Mike Wilson out there. He's not a great player, but is a very good player that has some flaws (like many, many NHL players). He's not perfect. And most defensemen aren't.

B) Yes. Gone in a heartbeat.

C) Depends on term. He's in phenomenal shape, is a fitness freak, and is a strong skater. Those 3 things will allow him to play at a high level until he's 35. Would I give him 8 years? No. But I give him 5.

I'm trying to come up with a trade package with Vancouver.

Holtby, Eriksson and Boeser for Skinner, Olofsson and Okposo

- jcragcrumple

Eichel and dahlin for petterrssom and Hughes 🤔

Add in Okposo and Boeser and a Van pick and I'm considering it

The salary doesn't even come close to working though and I don't want any of their crap to offset

Vancouver is a good trade partner for the Sabres. Seems like they need a kick to the line up as well.

Sabres really need to rid themselves of okposo and skimmer before next season.

If you're really trading eichel, maybe you move sam homeward bound?

I think you're right there. The basis of a Vancouver trade would be Reinhart for Boeser. I don't think that helps us though. I'd rather keep Reinhart

If they are going to blow up this team, his face needs to go elsewhere.

Boeser is a very good nhl hockey player, we would need to add

Buffalo fans saying Watt is on the decline, too expensive, old and broken...

This is why we can't have nice things.

This would be the Mario Williams signing but actually franchise changing. He's been injured for a few years but let's not act like he wasn't on pace to challenge Reggie White and Bruce Smith for best DE of all-time.

Seriously. People forget how dominant he was. This season showed he can stay healthy. Next year, he get's 10+ sacks no matter where he goes and if anyone on here thinks it would be a bad move to sign JJ (frank)ing Watt for 2 years is an idiot.

It would be like complaining about signing Jagr. Shut up and go buy his jersey, who cares if he's 60 years old?

I’d be curious what Skinners EV % is... he certainly isn’t a pp specialist, but when looking at olofson’ Ev% against Skinner and maybe even hall. Seeing as both are on the Sabres team currently.

I like olofson a lot. He’s a great success story and a monster on the pp. but with the teams even strength issues, Olofson should be playing LW3. And given what we’ve seen from hall currently, him and jack just seem to trip over one another... so he should be at LW2.... which puts skinner at LW1.

Skinner. Jack. Sam.
Hall. Staal. Cozens.

Just try that for 5 games. And do whatever you want with the bottom 6. Personally I’d keep Asplund and Mitts in. I like the youthful energy. If Kyle has to sit for a couple. Oh well.
