IF – and it's a large if that I don't think will pan out – the Canucks somehow get themselves to the playoff bubble by years end, they'll be one of the hottest teams in the league base on shear number of wins they'll have to string together. The one thing going for them is they're going to be playing all the teams they need to leapfrog, so those 4 point games are bigger than other seasons

If the #Canucks want to dump Jake Virtanen’s salary and can’t swing a trade they have a get out of jail free card: an offseason buyout.

Most buyouts don't make sense but because Virtanen’s under 26, the math is really appealing:

Stop sweating the little things in life so much

It makes me wonder about the dollar value of Hughes and Pettersson. I figure they will both come in at 7 mil but both are playing like 5 mil players. Hughes mad a lot of mistakes in his own end again last night but is leading the league in points for a Dman .

Petey's numbers this year don't support a 7 mil player but in his two previous years do .

It's only a matter of time before Petey gets rolling. Probably about the same time Hughes' defensive game picks up which should be soon. Regardless of Hughes' +/- if he continues to lead all dmen in scoring that kid will get paid. Petey will pick it up. Hard to say what his salary will be at this point.
