Ben Shelley: Islanders fall to Penguins in shootout

The fourth line has been great two of the last twelve games. The other ten they were terrible/invisible. I appreciate what they’ve done the last couple but let’s hope they were just finding their legs the first ten games and this is what we’ll see from here on out.

Probably the 2 best goals of the year for the Isles in a single game but aside from that, not enough offensive creativity from this group. This organization badly needs to find a suitable sniper to play with Barzal. And that second line needs Beau back. Wouldn’t mind seeing Beau, Brock and MDC. Bailey is shot. Stick him on the 3rd line with JGP and Wahlstrom and see what happens. Might be time to move him

Completely agree. Everyone is pumping them up right now but the first 10 games they provided nothing. That line has had success in the past against the Rags and Penguins so it doesn’t surprise me that they turned it on but overall, a bit overrated

Here’s hoping he pulls himself for the extra attacker mid way through the 1st.

I would have liked to see Wahlstrom get a shot in the shootout. Kid could not have done any worst then Bailey.
Also, the way Boston has been playing it does not matter who is in net. I expect a 2-1, 3-2 game either way. Special team will be a big factor in this one.

That would be awesome

Well Boston on the backend of a back to back so that’s good. Would really like to see Komarov off the third line and shot into a black hole. MDC benched waiting in the wings for the inevitable 4th line injury. Bailey on the third line and Eberle moved up to the 1st. Bellows on the 3rd line and Wahlstrom on the 2nd.

That’s what I would like to see.

What I will actually see;
One of Johnston or Komarov on the third line. Wahlstrom benched or on the third line. No bellows. Bailey on the first line and MDC on the 2nd line because he’s so good and we know he’s going to get the Nelson line going. Only a matter of time till MDC explodes with offense and our top six lights the NHL on fire.

Saw some of the Rags/Bruins game last night and it got pretty chippy and physical with a couple of fights so this will definitely happen.

Do the Rangers even have anyone that can fight?

Was watching from across the bar so it was hard to tell but I did see Buchnevich get his head handed to him.

You forgot Eberle?

Bailey shocked me the last fight he was in he seemed to do pretty well.

I know hockey is changing but you still need at least one proven tough guy. Just to protect the young talent alone.

The great protector Matt Martin has defended our young talent for years. Marchand and Gudas never took runs at our young talent thanks to Matt Martin.

Martin is no Ross.

I still would like one legit tough guy if possible.
