How quickly those preseason predictions get forgotten. Vancouver and Edmonton were supposed to be real threats this season, now only a few games in and no love.....too funny!

North division is very weak. Calgary, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg make it. Edmonton, Van and Ottawa miss.

Watch whomever qualifies from the north division to steam roll a winner from one of the U.S divisions, just to lose in the cup finals in the most disheartening way possible.

The beginning of the season is always a crap shoot. Who had NJ in 3rd place after 5 games? You need a longer sampling size before you start seeing where teams will really land. (Taking 3 of 4 points in a double header with the Bs, beating the Rangers, and splitting a pair with the Isles.)

I don't think this is about winning or not winning but the way you win...

Habs will face a much more tight defense (Flames) this week. Will be a good way to see how they respond...

Time will tell... but I prefer to be in Habs situation this morning than Sens one...

The kings would of been 2nd in division if they didn't let min come back to win from a 3-1 lead into the 3rd period (twice). After that series you can see the development real quick in the kids. They have split the series with avs and blues. Don't look away but quick has been great for the kings which could be the come back player of the year. Also look who is tied top of the league in scoring, kopitar. One more player to watch and thats Vilardi. They kid is strong and smart with and without the puck. He looks very much like getzlaf and can find ways to score. Tied with rookies in goals scored. I can see him move up from the 3rd line to 2nd and get more opportunity to wear down the opposing top lines. GKG!!

Agreed. Kings have looked pretty good against some tough teams. Much better than anticipated.

Disagree. Will be very difficult to prove either way this year but Kings, Sharks, Ducks have looked pretty good against 2 cup favourites in the Avs and Blues.
Vancouver might just be the second worst team in the league behind Detroit.

And Vancouver "befitted" from the Refs... Twice more powerplay for Vancouver... and it was not enough...

Classic case of maximizing the minimize.

Always some justification and excuse. Sports is all about overcoming or not the adversities that come your way. Time to give the Habs credit instead of looking for the loopholes to evade giving the credit where credit is due.

The way Vancouver has played so far leads me to believe that any team that had faced them would have won equally as easily.

Give the Habs props for being the team on the ice against Vancouver but, Vancouver did feed Montreal how many goals? Coulda been anyone but it was Montreal that benefitted. Or is it befitted now?

So Tampa has ONLY played Chicago and Columbus? Umm, you said Columbus would win the division. So it seems like Tampa has actually faced a tough schedule playing two road games against the so-called "best" team in the division.

As for Vegas beating up on Anaheim and Arizona, with SJ and LA to follow...didn't you consider that when you predicted Vegas to miss the playoffs?

All observers or most of them anyway, were putting them in the playoffs...

So lets not throw them away that fast, Petersen will come to his senses soon enough

He is still a very young player... If Vancouver success rely on him that much... Not sure the team itself is that great...

It is like putting all the pressure on Suzuki... Not a big fan of that...

Thatcher Demko going full racicot isn't helping them either, but it's still great to see

He'll get better. It has to be intimidating for youngsters even though he's emerged as a star in his own right.
