How is that even possible? - Canada Cup
They're working harder for longer stretches of games this year. Still some serious braincramps and lapses. But, seriously, last year this team really only played about 20 minutes a night. I'm pleased with Keefe. Last night, for example, at the beginning Edmonton was freewheeling with way too much speed through the neutral zone. The Leafs were able to adjust. |

For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day.
It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations.

Leafs playing a tighter game. Better defensive results. Less goals. 5v5 struggling to score.
Much more boring. Goalies still sporting sub. 900 sv%.
Maybe some quality of opponents effects.
Still early. |

Jt with the winner. Great start for him.
Were people whining about Andersen again last night? Lol
6 games, the teams should almost be out of preseason mode and pretty much settling in soon. |

How much of that sub 900 is just the residue of the first two games. Goaltending seeming to be less of an issue |

Montreal fans won't give up Suzuki even 1 for 1. I don't think they are too unreasonable, but I do think I would do 1 for 1. I would not do the deal listed above.
I am sure they want to give up Danault, Mete and a 2nd... but I still think the Winnipeg deal is more interesting to Columbus. |

Ya, pretty responsible play top to bottom so far. Establishing that 3rd line has helped. Guys look like they are developing into roles a bit. Even that 3rd pairing with Dermott and Bogosian has looked comfortable the last few games.
And Freddy's been very good the last 3.
But, a loss and Sunday and we get back to lighting the torches. |

If it is Roslovic also, I bet some defensive help is coming Winnipeg's way. |

They look like nothing has changed. They will win their fair share of games out of sheer skill, and some effort, once in a while.
They should be forced to watch film of the Habs. I hate the Habs more than any other team, but they work. If the Leafs worked as hard as the Habs, they would win the cup.

In response to the failed Bay of Pigs mission. - The Law
Irony of the 1960 JFK vs Nixon election. JFK was able to hammer Eisenhower and his VP Nixon for not providing direct military aid to the anti-Castro insurgents. Nixon, was unable to say that the government was secretly doing that because it was, you know, a secret.
Kennedy probably knew. Nixon got outlslimed by JFK |
