Three is a magic number
Yes it is, it's a magic number
Somewhere in that ancient mystic trinity
You get three as a magic number
The past and the present and the future
Faith and hope and charity
The heart and the brain and the body
Give you three as a magic number
It takes three legs to make a tripod or to make a table stand
It takes three wheels to make a vehicle called a tricycle
And every triangle has three corners
Every triangle has three sides
No more, no less, you don't have to guess
When it's three, you can see
Its a magic number
A man and a woman had a little baby
Yes, they did
They had three in the family
And that's a magic number
Three, six, nine
Twelve, fifteen, eighteen
Twenty-one, twenty-four, twenty-seven
Thirty
(Three, six, nine
Twelve, fifteen, eighteen
Twenty-one, twenty-four, twenty-seven
Thirty)
Now the multiplies of three
Come up three times in each set of ten
In the first ten
You get three, six, nine
And in the teens' ten
It's twelve, fifteen and eighteen
And in the twenties you get-a
Twenty-one, twenty-four, twenty-seven
And it comes out even on thirty
Three times ten is (thirty)
Three times nine is (twenty-seven)
Three times eight is (twenty-four)
Three times seven is (twenty-one)
Three times six is eighteen
Three times five is fifteen
Three times four is twelve
And three times three is nine
And three times two is six
And three times one is three, of course
(Now dig the pattern once more!)
Twelve, fifteen, eighteen (Twenty-one)
Twenty-one, twenty-four, twenty-seven
Thirty (Yeah)
Three times ten is (thirty)
Three times nine is (twenty-seven)
Three times eight is (twenty-four)
Three times seven is (twenty-one)
Three times six is eighteen
Three times five is fifteen
Three times four is twelve
And three times three is nine
And three times two is six
And three times one
What is it? (Three)
Yeah, thats a magic number
A man and a woman had a little baby
Yes, they did
There had three in the family
That's a magic number - Atomic Wedgie

Yea, my problem with it is that getting players like that, put alot of pressure on the system and on the team that isn't necessarily fair. It makes it tough to be unique or to change game style on the fly.
One common narrative that you hear about the leafs and the nucks (persay) is that they are PP killers. They destroy 4v5; while thats an awesome fact, when a game is low on the PP or a team is far more aggressive on the puck, then you get games like we saw vs edm the other day. that was one hell of an ugly/boring/broken game.
My comments dont come because the Habs are killing, but (frank), if we could see a leafs team that worked and skated and was accountable like the habs are, but had the 3 beasts in matthews, marner and JT, they would be all world. - munky123
That Edmonton game was strange because it wasn't really representative of how either team plays. Both were so concerned with containing each other that neither one bothered to push the play. This year through 5 games the Leafs are still seeking to solidify their style. A couple of times we've seen then glom onto the possession style, keep the puck, move it, cycle in the o-zone, have three guys high to protect the neutral zone, and swing the third guy low when it's opportune. They haven't really been doing it regularly, and they haven't been entering the offensive zone with the intent to establish a presence either. I think they will get there.
Montreal, meanwhile, has been playing pretty loose. I expect Julien will want to reign that in, but it's been fun to watch. Not that I am usually happy when the Habs do well, I can still appreciate fun hockey.

Yea there is work to be done for sure, but i am happy they score and control play 5v5. Speacial teams will come, but to bank your team success being the best 1-2 teams on the PP, is so flawed... it drives me nuts to see pundits talk that game up. I want to see the leafs play like the habs ( have been recently) when it comes to heart and to relentless puck pursuit and a forecheck that is scary.
Cant expect to win the cup being the best team 5v4 and not much 5v5.
could be tricky, salary will be the issue. TBH, i dont hate muzzins game, but i dont like it either. i dont think hes all there upstaires. I wouldnt be sad to see him go. If the leafs could shore up the d wil good 2 ways puck movers, they might be able to make up for the gaps we see in the transition game and making for a better and more efficient quick strike offence. If the leafs dont become a force 5v5, they wont go far.

So much for his (Matthews) new training regiment helping reduce injuries.... - Archaic
Yeah, unless it's a pulled muscle due to a lack of warm-up (which I cannot imagine happening to a pro athlete), no amount of conditioning is going to help that in a contact sport no less.
