Every team has weaknesses, there are no superpowers. Here in Tampa ours is Rutta, Schenn and Foote so it’s all good

Even if you’re of the belief that he was deserving of some kind of reprimand for that uninspired moment, it’s tough to sell the rest of the players on the bench that sitting your best player in an incredibly tight game makes sense.

The point you missed is that PLD is NO LONGER their BEST PLAYER with that kind of effort. I was surprised it happened for the rest of the game, but did PLD ask to be put back in and promise a better effort? We do not know that. It will get ironed out, and I applaud the rest of the team's effort, because they demonstrated that they could carry on without their "best player".

PLD was a liability on the ice with that effort, don't blame Torts for benching him at all. Last year I am pretty sure Kucherov was a defensive liability in a game and Cooper benched him for the rest of the game. If I am the other players and they all saw his effort just like Torts did then I think they might be more on the side of the coaches decision, if you are not here to help us win then you can sit on the bench. PLD's body language said it all in my opinion.
