Look I don’t like MS one bit, but managing the minutes also means managing the development of a young player. He needs to both earn and show he is ready for bigger minutes.

Not unheard of, but also a great idea. Playing your off-wing can actually work out well for some players, but playing your off-side on D rarely ever does. There's only a handful of dmen I can think of that play their off-side as a permanent thing.

For a guy who is a fringe NHLer it does't give me warm and fuzzies.
