Carol Schram: Canucks start well, but flame out in Calgary to close opening road trip On Monday night, the Vancouver Canucks came out with plenty of jump and took an early 1-0 lead, but ultimately fell 5-2 to the Calgary Flames to end their season-opening road trip with a 1-3-0 record.

Thanks Carol,

I disagree that lack of scoring isn't a concern. They could be in a tough spot if they don't do well against the Habs.

Did the Canucks give up on the "we are relentless" slogan and feel like they could stop after going a 1 goal lead?

Maybe they think that Demko can do what he did to Vegas in the post season to every team he plays against this season. By that logic, 1 goal is enough to win every game.

Tough turnarounds this season with no real time off between games. Playing 4 in 6 nights on the road was a tough task to start, hopefully being back home lets them settle a bit.

Next 6 at home. If they don't come out with at least a 4-2 record... think the panic button is going to be smashed around Vancouver.

Tough start on the road but a good wake up call. They need to ride Holby now for a bit, to get the new roles/players in sync and get a rhythm going (especially on the PK and PP).

Still good enough for 2nd or 3rd in the division, just need to relax and play the system. Just get to the playoffs.

I think the goaltending has been fine.
More concerned with the lack of scoring and forecheck/offensive zone entries myself.
Need to get back to basics and get some greasy goals.

No one every asks how, it’s always how many. He also cranked one off the post, quarterbacking one of the top pp in the league.

Can’t wait for Miller to get back and all this losing can stop....

All joking aside, they played one good period yesterday, one isn’t enough, hopefully Green can instill some urgency into this group or they will be out by the 20 game mark.

Honestly, why not try Pettersson-Horvat-Boeser at this point. Nothing to lose, can't get any quality chances going 5v5
