He did work out with him this summer, and he seems a lot quicker.

Was hoping someone would confirm for me what I was seeing. He's been really good so far. Playing big minutes ...the toughest minutes ...and coming out on top.
So far so good.
Somebody post some numbers on Brodie's last two games. My vision tells me he seems to be finding his game as well. - The Law
Small sample alert!
also...weaker teams (maybe)...but, I think the can div has a lot of bad teams. |

I dont agree on either point.
We have watched Rielly for years. Doesnt matter what partner he has.
I think we will see (or not see) that brodie does a lot more of the quiet things that fans over look that help in their own end.
I will give it 20 or 30 games of watching Brodie before I come to any conclusions - senstroll

People here thought 72 point Rielly was going to be his new normal. It is more likely that may be the peak of his production.
Still a great player. He is what he is.
It is tough to judge new players on 4 games with no real practice or pre season or regular routine. - Aaron_85
Rielly shot double his career avg that season...was around 4-4.5%, then suddenly 9%
it was obv that was never going to continue.
But ..last season he had a massive correction and shot 2.3%..which is low..he will have a bounce back again im sure and land around 5% ..just a guess

Holl also has 4 points and is a plus 3... Awesome.
Moran Reilly has been searching for his game so far. Not sure if it was being paired with Bogo, but holy crap he has been out of position a lot. - bixll
I think that if you give him a good partner, being out of position is Rielly’s game.
He’s going to pinch down to the hashmarks, join rushes, go low when we have the puck in offensive end.
Think Gardiner, but with intelligence. |

the Hyman screen was again crucial as well.
4th goal this season where he doesn't get an assist, but without him it would not have been a goal.
Hyman by far has been best FW so far imo.
Kerfoot is looking much better.
Mikheyev won't take long to score a PK goal.
Matthews-Marner-Thornton looking good - but they should.
Tavares great start of the season.
Willie played well first few games - yesterday when the game got more physical, he drowned.
Vesey very mediocre.
I haven't liked Simmonds so far - had better hopes for him.
Spezza quite ok.
then on D, Holl looking good. Rielly ok (always steady).
Don't like what I have seen from Brodie, Bogosian so far.
Muzzin ok, Dermott ok.
Lehtonen - we'll see next few games.
Freddie meh.
all by all - no real surprises there - Leafs have elite offense, average D and Goaltending. |

Reilly in 3 on 3 overtime is super exciting, he’s freaking dangerous when he has space and time. |

Pretty sure he got an assist on that goal.
If not, the scorers are blind or stupid.

Should we still trade Marner and Willy? Was signing Tavares a huge mistake? |

I was talking about his play in his own end mostly.
He is suppose to make his partner better, not , if you give him a good partner. |

It was actually kind of nice of the other teams not to claim him in my opinion.
They could have done it just to (frank) the Leafs.

I like Hyman, because he truly can play anywhere in that lineup, and for the most part, he gives it every shift.
Freddy made some great saves last night. I think he will be more than fine and make some eat a little crow.
Now... if the Leafs lose to Connor McDrysaddle next game, we’ll back on suicide watch and the trade everyone mode in here again. |
