Thx Todd, Lucic unfortunately is more of a slug then last year. He is a playoff guy and we need him then. So go on the taxi squad and plug him in every so often. Simon needs to flip flop with levo! With simon’s speed and ability to dig the puck off the half boards and corners he has to move up with Johnny G and Monahan. Dube is going to be a ✰ if he keeps his play up love his progression!! Tanev is definitely an upgrade from haminic, and might actually be making hanifin better🙏🏽. All in all good game

You were partly right about Lucic Todd, early on he made some horrible decisions for passing the puck but Ryan/Simon & him had some very good scoring chances in the 3rd & Lucic just pasted Roussel to the boards. Lucic did a huge screen on that 2nd Dube goal, Holtby didnt have a chance to see it.

Bennett looks great on that line with Backlund & Magpie. Chucky is a beast!

Agree on Looch, for as slow as he is, he still provides a physical element out there. He goes to the net and provides a big screen out there, first one was off the post, but he was definitely a factor on Dubes goal. There’s no way Ward is sitting him unless it’s in a back to back situation.
I love the 19,28,29 line, they control the play most of the time they’re out there.
Agree Todd, Mang is rounding into a complete force out there, glad to see him getting what he deserves.
Is Rasmus not turning into our best defenseman? He’s playing with so much confidence right now. That trade just keeps on giving.
Thought Val and Nesterov had a great game as well.

I agree looch was the reason on Dube’s goal and he had a big hit. But he also gave the puck up a lot! And got bailed out by hit team. he was down right awful against Winnipeg. Hopefully for Lucic and the flames this is just him finding his sea legs, cuz honestly who is going to replace him? And the flames need his physical presents.

If any trades are going to be made tomorrow would be the day I would think as we have a decent break coming up.

I can’t see Lucic playing out his contract, I bet he retires after this season. He just hasn’t got the wheels or hands anymore to keep up.

Any news on the new arena? I want to see some pictures FFS!

And walk away from a guaranteed 12 million after this year. I very much doubt it!
Thankfully the Oilers are paying 1.5 of the 12.

It was a great all-around game for the Flames for sure.

Stars in the Making: Mangiapane and Dube
Tkachuk is just a beast... still can't believe Canucks didn't draft him when they had the chance.
Monohan and Gaudreau played better which is awesome
Lindholm is one of the best all-around players we have.
Marky was rock solid - nice to have stable goaltending.
Bennet is good but man he takes too many penalties but I really like him and I think he is the type of player that gets you the cup when playoffs start so it better to keep him.

Flames also signed Ritchie on a 2-way contract, he has to clear waivers which I think he will. It's nice to have his physical presence if needed for sure.

And our 4th line RW spot is still up for grabs.
Anyone know if Ritchie has any NHL experience on the PK?

If he was to retire after his signing bonus is paid out in the summer he would only be leaving $6.5 million on the table, not 12

Is this the same Ritchie that we use to talk about when he was on Dallas ... I remember reading here that we should trade for him... or was that a different Ritchie. The Dallas Ritchie I remember was big and hit hard and we all wanted a player like that.

Game day Boys!
Love the back to back games, leads to more animosity between teams. Players getting to chummy off the ice dictates a softer league.

How many games do you guys think Rittich will play this year? 13-15 would be my guess, can’t see them not using Markstrom unless it’s fatigue, maintenance, or back to back.

Like that Ward moved Bennett up in the top 9, I think he deserves that, but man 2 stupid penalties! I’m sure he’s had a talking to about this and don’t see him taking lazy ones this game. A guy can only dream.

Dube on that top line was one of Wards better moves so far this year, the guy has a history of raising his game when given opportunity. Mangiapani on the powerplay is another.

Watching Hamonic this season, I can see why the Flames passed on him, he looks slow and out of shape. But signing Stone is a head scratcher, don’t get it?

Simon looked good last game, think he made that 4th line a lot better. Wait to see the lineup for tonight’s game.

Have we traded for Dubois yet?

Not sure with the whole Quarantine of 2 weeks if it will happen until the draft. But I would still go for it. If JG is looking at heading east leaves us with a bonified star in the organization.

Not only a star but the guy had 10 points in 10 playoff games. That’s worth a lot right there. It surprises me he’s that good, when I watched him at the world juniors, I was like, meh. Big body, strong, and talented, just what the Flames need.
Some are saying the signing of Stone indicates maybe Hanifan is going somewhere. Purely speculation, 55 & 23 for Dubois. I’d do that in a heartbeat, how about you?

Hell yes. Just as long as it was sorted that PLD would sign an extension this summer.

Nick is still in Boston and played for the Ducks. Brett played for the Stars then Boston then signed with us.

That's an awful deal for the Flames. Dubois isn't a Hanifin better than Monahan and potentially leaves the Flames with the worst group of defencemen in the league.

It also isn't possible since Columbus, like everyone else, has no cap space. They could barely pull off a straight up Monahan for Dubois deal.

It's have to be something like Monahan and Pelletier or picks.

Agree Mony and Hanifin might be a bit rich but its likely not too far off.

I would support us going after PLD but I would hesitate before I called him a star.
His careers numbers are:
GP236, G65, A93, PTS158, PTS/GP .67
I also would prefer trading Zary over Pelletier.
