Wow.. I am just noticing that Provy will wear an A this year on a rotational basis.

Must have missed that before.. I am a bad flyers fan..

So Frosty makes the cut... good for him.

I thinthey're showing some respect and encouragement for Jake and especially Provy with the A's... Hopefully that turns out to be smart moves.

Lastly... I assume Friedman is also a Healthy Scratch, and was merely inadvertently omitted in the Blog

Thanks, as usual, Bill for the great work... I'm ready... Let's begin the fun, albeit shortened season.

Sounds like NoPa's stickhandling is noticeably better and a bit faster. Hoping he can continue with a happy life then hockey goes its way after.

Not sure I'm comfortable with Braun getting more than 20 mins.

I’m not sure I’m comfortable Braun getting more than :01 ice time. He blows
- SMS4016

Every 6/7 defenseman the Flyers have or will have will blow...a scapegoat is always needed.

Although I don't know if I want Braun carrying 20+ mins a night. Unfortunately I doubt Myers is ready for that responsibility yet and the only other would be Gus, not sure I like that pairing either.

I strongly doubt that will be case.

You'll see Provorov out there with any number of partners, situation depending.

I think knowing you could keep the 2nd unit together was probably a big part of it. Provy is better equipped to carry Braun but I think you will see Myers and Sanheims minutes up and I think at certain points Braun will sit and one of them will slide in. Not perfect for sure, the forwards need to be real good in the D zone and carry the play otherwise.

Braun was averaging over 20 minutes for SJ year before last right? I mean he's older but I guess early in the season is the best time to ask him for that kind of time again.

I would expect the Meyers/Sanheim pairing to get significant minutes, just because he didn’t get paired with Provorov doesn’t mean they won’t be getting a lot of ice. They probably chose not to change a consistent pair, which I agree with.

FWIW. The Athletic has its pre season predictions with a couple of encouraging Flyer entries. Flyers are given a 46% chance to win the division over Boston 29%.

Do you remember where you were when DR MIDNIGHT predicted the 2021 season to be the year the Flyers finally win?

It all fits together. Jake & G will slightly over perform and Patrick, Frost & Hart out-earn their checks to make us a balanced monster.

Watch out Colorado!

Since he doesn't get PP time I doubt he gets 20 minutes a night. (hopefully lol)

Flyers taking a lot of penalties could elevate his ice time but I agree with you.

One year overdue for Provorov. Congratulations to him.

This isn’t Hayes hate, I just thought it was odd Hayes instantly got an “A”, alternating with Voracek his first year with the Flyers and probably never wore a letter anywhere else in seasons passed, anywhere he went. I’m fine with it now but I never understood that choice last season over Provorov who is mister everything on our defense or Matt Niskanen who does all the right things on the ice and says all the right things off.

I think the Sanheim/Myers pair is gonna be huge for this team. We all know Provorov is gonna make whomever he plays with better. It’s only a matter of time until we find a full time partner for Ivan.
