It was due to potential Covid exposure but apparently not due to any positive tests at this point.

Surprised sanhiem and or Myers hasn’t seen more time with provie. I get they played well together. Just saying. Guessing ghost and Allison are just possible exposure precautions. Looks like either Braun or ghost are the 7 th d. Guessing Braun but wouldn’t have guessed that two weeks ago.

I would prefer sanheim and Meyers together, split the ice time and matchups between Provy and their pair somewhat evenly. Ride the hot hand. We know one pair works, why tweak it.

I really don’t think it’s about tweaking that since this is preseason training camp. You’re absolutely right that they already know what they have in Sanheim-Myers. I get that it’s a good thing, but now would have been a good time to at least get a current small look at what Provy-Myers would bring. The season is unpredictable.

I think the running total for camp is 2 days with Provy-Ghost and 2 days with Provy-Braun so with the unexplained Ghost absence today, you can drawn up your own theory.

Misunderstanding apart, I am really surprised. Braun playing #2 minutes? Or Ghost?

Those all seem like potentials. Without knowing who will be the extras on the roster, it’s hard to guess. If they keep Morin as an extra on the roster, maybe they only carry 7 d instead of 8. Maybe they keep Lyon on the roster, but if he is on the taxi squad then there is only 5 more taxi spots.

Just my opinion but I believe Ghost may have played his way onto top pair with Provy. Just from reading reports. I haven't seen anything with my own eyes. So this report about him being unavailable is huge. Knocks him back. Hurts our first few weeks/games. One reporter wrote that he thought PP1 looked smoother with Ghost.

If he's healthy and playing to his ability, run with it. Provy is strong enough to offset any defensive mistakes Ghost makes.

With the ability to have a taxi squad, carrying 8 defenseman on the roster would be blatant cap mis-management.

If its "potential exposure", and not actual infection, he should be back in a week at worst really.

At the trade deadline would you revisit the Laine trade or knock on CLB door for PLD and what would be your offer knowing Laine /Dubois both want out?

I get what you’re saying, but there are also other factors like the waiver risk and availability of starters due to injury/illness including COVID protocols.

Before Provorov was even a possibility to be drafted by the Flyers, Sanheim was our potential number one defenseman of the future. I think keeping Sanheim and Myers together is the best thing you could do for the two young players aand the overall defense. There is no bigger stage then the playoffs and they passed.

I think Braun is gonna end up next to Provorov. I might not like the idea but he’s a vet with the experience to carry that burden.

I like the second PP unit more than the first. Something tells me that first unit is gonna have a right handed stick on the half wall of umbrella. Something that’s never worked for us.

I know most of you want to keep all of your kittens in the litter but we’re gonna have to give them away sooner or later. I know most of you want Ghost to stay and rebound but the Flyers don’t need him to. I feel like Gustafsson and Gostisbehere even being here could hold back Sanheim and Myers’ offensive production.

I think the trade deadline would be the best time to revisit Patrick Laine, depending on where we are in the standings.

No, I would not pursue Laine. How is Patrick doing? Is he a regular in the lineup and playing well? If so, why pursue Dubois? I really don't see Columbus trading Dubois.

Covid is a big reason why they're allowing a taxi squad. Carrying 8 D on the roster and on the cap would be dumb.
