I’m curious to see if teams are as likely to offer the Kraken young players or draft pick to either choose, or not choose, individuals like they did with Vegas. Maybe they’ll tread a little more softly there.

You can find examples of this all over the place, but that’s why they ended up with some fine youth like Shea Theodore, for example. They only lucked out with him because the Ducks didn’t want to let go of Manson.

Sure, they got lucky with a few choices who all of a sudden stepped up to have career years or come into their own as athletes, but they made a ton of hay in this regard, as well.

Any word on how the draft lottery will work for Seattle?

I believe both Pacioretty and Stone were also acquired because of picks acquired during expansion draft.

Assuming it works the same as Vegas, they will be given the same draft lottery odds as the team that finishes third last.

Expecting GM’s will be a bit wiser than the few that were dummies. Still though the Kraken should do pretty good. D should be the big focus which won’t be easy. In goal is easy enough. Up front will have plenty to choose from.

👍
I couldn't remember what odds they gave to Vegas, thanks for clearing that up.

While fielding an at least competitive team should be the goal, what happened for teams in the Vegas draft should not be allowed to happen again. In fairness to teams NOT the Kraken (and the exempt Knights, which is a whole level of BS) the protection numbers should be expanded so teams can not lose a solid depth guy so quickly.
