This leaves the Leafs in a position where they need to extend or sign additional players in order to protect the names from this list. With the options available I selected Travis Dermott but other scenarios could mean Seattle selects someone like Alexander Kerfoot or even Zach Hyman if he is extended.

I even said I my message when I did the leafs team that I could see Engvall exposed, and I see the leafs acquiring a forward for a purpose to expose him..

I can see the leafs offering a mid round pick to take marincin, or a different player instead of holl or dermott.

Due to the value placed on defense vs forwards in the expansion draft (most of the time a team's 4th best defenseman vs a team's 8th best forward will be available), I think that the Kraken will select no fewer than 14 defensemen in the draft, like Vegas did in 2017. Even if they don't have a spot on the opening roster, Francis can flip them in the summer for additional assets.

Use FA to build forwards.

i didn't see your reasoning for the hurricanes pick but i would think that if bean was available, he would be who francis would go for, slightly younger, one of his last #1 picks with the canes, personally, i hope he stays in carolina
