No way they protect Schultz over Dillon.

I feel like a Dman will be selected, but would not be surprised if Oshie goes and becames a face of the franchise for a few years

I need don't watch the Caps closely, so I'm just curious what people think about Dillon being exposed. When I look at that roster, I see Dillon protected over Schultz and Orlov.

Am I wrong to think that? I especially think that if you're thinking of exposing Dillon, you trade him first. No way do you lose a player than 31 other teams want for nothing.

For being a perennial contender, I never realized how thin the Caps' overall depth is. Nowhere near the hard decisions some "lesser" teams have to make.

No issues with adding another D. This needs to be treated like a draft. You take the best player available, despite what your team needs are. I personally think that Oshie is left exposed. Unreal player who cripples guys every night, but he'll be 34 at this draft, with another 4 years remaining. I feel that his cap hit might be a growing concern. Fan of the guy. He's on track to retire with 1100 games and nearly 800 points, but if Seattle isnt on his limited NMC, I would probably leave him exposed.

To have watched a lot of Caps games over the last couple of years. It was a really hard decision that I made of protecting Orlov and Schutlz over Dillon.

Truth is, both of Schutlz and Orlov's skillset would be more difficult to replace than Dillon. With the next couple of years. I do think players like Dillon will be cheaper to get on the market compared to someone like Schutlz and Orlov. Again, it was a tough decision to make but I do think the Caps are built in a way that players like Orlov and Schutlz are more necessary to the success of the team than Dillon, which would be easier to replace in my opinion via UFA and/or trade

Dillon is the right pick, but no way he slots ahead of Zadorov on the left side. [img][/img]
