No hockey to talk about, here's a subject, concerts you've walked out of?

Mine is Ted Nugent, The Scorpions and The Pat Travers Band.
Pat Travers and The Scorpions were great but we were headed to the door during Ted's 2nd song.

I left UB40 during their 1st song at UBC War Memorial Gym. I went to see the Fine Young Cannibals open, anyways.

Easy! Dave Matthews Band at The Gorge.
My ex insisted I go after I told her I won't enjoy it. I couldn't decide if I hated the band or the fans more.

But did Ali Campbell scream into the mic "hey Victoria is there any sweet poontang out there" and then Tanzan swing from the top of a speaker stack across the stage?

It’s not my story, because I haven’t ever walked out of a concert, I’m cheap and I’m stubborn. But...

Buddy of mine asked his girlfriend if she wanted him to get her a ticket to go see STP in Vancouver. A bunch of people from work were going over, was going to be a good time. She said “yes please, I love STP”. So they get there, several drinks had pre-game etc, they start their set and she says “hey, this is Stone Temple Pilots, I hate them” and drags him out. To this day I never found out who she though STP was.

The Beach Boys were my first concert. I had to leave at 10:30 because my dad was picking me up. They hadn’t sung Barbara Ann yet.

Great topic! Only concert I ever walked out of was Billy Idol. I’d seen him twice before and he was so hammered he wasn’t really singing, just flaying around and laying on the stage. Funny at first but by the forth song it became too much.

was given tickets to go see Dave Matthews at GM Place. Didn’t like him but I never refused free. Invited a friend who absolutely detested them and we sat in the upper bowl and smoked dope the whole time and pissed off everyone around us. Have never been around music fans so uptight in my life. So funny.

Edit: come to think about it, I may have left that concert early... so Idol and Matthews.

I got a Billy Idol story. Aug. 1984 playing blackjack in a casino in Reno with a buddy, we started being entertained by the names being paged for the courtesy phone, James Bond, Burt Reynolds, Billy Idol, even Elvis, we both agreed that someone was joking a round, we get up to go to the buffet and my buddy who is 6'4 sees over everyone else, says "hey there's Billy Idol" and he walks right by us. We go to dinner and agree it was just an impersonator.
Later that night we're in our hotel room watching the news and the lead story is about all the damage done to the grounds of the local arena by 4 wheelers after the Billy Idol concert the night before, we got a great laugh out of it.

The only tickets I was ever given were for a concert cancelled 2 days later, thank gawd, it was KISS.

Edit: I was given a whole season of Seahawks tickets, the strike year with scab players

Agreed, Canucks will be much better than many are giving them credit for.

I get the players were promised something but it is time to get a grip...the idea of paying 72% of salaries without any ticket sales, concessions, additional events, etc. makes no logical sense. Owners are ultra rich so of course they are looking to claw some back...it is how they operate but players need to accept where their bread is buttered and suck it up. Otherwise, they should start their own league so that they can keep 100% of the profits.

You’d know it was Idol because he’s a halfling. Tiny little guy.

I was in the pool at tulalip casino with my kids and another dad and his kid walk through the pool area and out to the deck outside. My wife said do you know who that was? I said a dad and his kid. She said no, it’s Billy Idol with a body guard. lol. I guess he was playing that night at the casino.

I’m not joking when I say tiny. He’s a smurf.
