Vasilevsky - no one really close
Price - still deadly. Propped up very shaky Habs teams for the past decade
Rask
Andersen - SV% dipped last near, but close to .920 every year prior. Still elite

What about Sorokin? Ek predicted he'd win the Calder AND the Vezina this year.

In all seriousness, Elvis is better than Korpisalo. So very odd to omit him. If you are going to pick a Russian surprise I'd vote for Samsonov or Shesterkin to rapidly emerge as top 5 in the East.

why would Blackwood be considered better than Shesterkin?

I wouldn’t call Blackwood top 5 yet but I like this hot take. Definitely an underrated goalie who’s done surprisingly well given his age and team in front of him

a rested Price showed that he's still a top 3 goaler in the league...

Blackwood? No. He’s a fine goalie, and I think he can succeed with a solid team, but not yet. Even in his short play, I’d want Shesty over him.

Vas and Rask for sure. Then it gets muddy. Hart probably deserves a nod. He played like trash initially in away games last year, but unstoppable at home. Towards the end of the year, he became much better visiting other cities, and his stats show it. Plus he had a nice playoffs. I’d probably put him there, but this is all gonna change soon.

Price was lights out in the playoffs. He’s not done. Not quite yet.

Shesty, Hart, Harry, Blackwood, Sorokin, and Samsonov are all a part of a very bright future in the East. Maybe Elvis, too.

When the Metro returns after the possible Covid divisions, that’s gonna be quite a gauntlet of netminders.

Probably because he has played more than 12 games in his career. Just speculating here. Also, can't tell if you're trolling.

Same reason Helle won the Vezina. High danger chances and weak D make his job much harder. To come out with a good sv% given those stats, was very impressive. Shesterkin looked amazing, but you could argue he was sheltered, faced fewer high danger chances, and had a better D core. It's subjective, but I do think Blackwood is the real deal. Helle was not the GAA or sv% leader either.

Heck, If schneids does sign with the Isles, and gets to play, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets back to 0.920sv% because they don't give up any high danger chances it seems. I do feel that Carter Hart deserves a little more respect tho. That guy is a stud.
