Haula wants to sign with Vegas again, but Vegas can not even sign the mascot right now.

Soooooo sign with Edmonton so Haula can be flipped to Vegas for Fleury + whatever.

No matter the value of Fleury a team would be helping Vegas out of a cap situation, not only they are probably one of the strongest teams in the conference. Now Vegas wants another team to sign a UFA for them too?

Well I hope Edmonton gets paid handsomely for that exchange. At first I would say add a 1st rounder, but uhhh may be a bit more now.

As an Oiler fan getting Haula would be awesome...

Not sure why Edmonton would then flip him for MAF...

Neither team has cap space. The Oilers likely a bit depending on Klefbom IR and a low one/2 year deal for Bear.

Burying contracts at the start of the year to make it work is probably doable but then no flexibility and it would really be rough with cap penalties likely.

Purely from a Edmonton viewpoint maybe it makes sense for them to get Haula trade him and Neal and Koskinen for MAF... but of course then Vegas is in even deeper. Maybe instead of Neal its Chiasson and a pick...

In short this rumor makes even less sense than Eks usual BS.

It's only an e3. That means it's only 137% for sure to be happening. A near miss.

The problem with the cap situation isn't just this year. I feel like it's going to become a huge problem that a new expansion and TV contract is not going to fix.

Close to 40% of the NHL is currently sitting at 1 million or less in cap space....

The solution is not LTIR.

In other breaking news....Henrik Lunqvist signed a new exclusive goalie jock double cup deal with Eagle/Vaughn.

Ten days ago the Hoffman signing was apparently imminent. I'm wondering if the delay is Vegas. If they can flip MAF for Haula, then maybe they have room to sign Hoffman. Vegas is sneaky like that. And Hoffman wants to win so why sign with someone when you can wait and see if Vegas jumps in.

Thought MAF wasn't going anywhere cause Lehner is missing the start of the season due to some kind of injury/surgery?
