Lou Lamoriello...........why did you not move or buy out (36yo)Boychuk$6m, (31yo)Hickey$2.5m, (34yo)Ladd$5.5m and (33yo)Komarov$3m in the last season or two? Its to late in the game you old fool. Signed (32yo)Clutterbuck for $3.5mx2? What the F! Wrong moves and no balls. Its a business, we expected more from you as a GM.
Its time to move on from them 5 players, make the team younger, sign Barzal. Bring up some more youth.
You could have had tons of cap space with no issues. Stop paying guys that do not make a difference or are done, stop giving contracts to guys that you should have moved on from. These guys are trade worthless. Your fault Lou

Attach a 1st round pick to Boychuk and Detroit will take him. Otherwise not interested.

We’ll attach a first round pick and wrap Komarov around it, then tie a bow on top and you’ll love it. Slurp it right up.

I don't think Detroit will be on Boychuk's 8 team trade list. It is probably Boston, Toronto, Montreal. Vegas, Tampa, Carolina, New York Rangers, and California Golden Seals. In other words he will make it next to impossible to move him.

Maybe you can move Hickey and a 2nd to Detroit and Stevie will bury about half of that contract if he has to send him to the AHL or ECHL or loan him to a European team.

Your not the sharpest tool in the shed are you? Your nickname is Butter Knife? Look up what the actual buyout numbers would be, cause you don't have a freaking clue!

And........Garth Signed Clutterbuck, NOT LOU! But I'm sure you knew that. Garth signed Cal 5 years at 3.5..........Go back to your coloring book!

Nah. The Panthers will probably require only a 3rd.

Ya that is basically the only way this gets done. 50% retained and you might receive a 3rd rd selection, but obviously you would need to make yet another move to free up Barzal's cap space. Is Cizikas tradeable? I have always liked his game, but he did have a pretty weak output this past season. Someone might be willing to gamble on the guy.

You are not wrong. Lou inked some big $ to guys on deals that take many into their mid 30's. I still don't agree with him winning the GM of the year award for that reason. His star is still unsigned and they will likely have to forfeit a 1st rd selection to free up the space to keep him. His best move has to be landing Trotz, who really did make this team play with the most complete structure I have seen in some time. Nobody could have seen these circumstances coming, and now Lou has a lot of work to do to fit into this flat cap.
