Middlestadt just doesn’t have it IMO. Why bother protecting him

I think given who you've protected, Seattle takes Borgen if he's eligible

It's not like he's taking a protected forward spot away from someone else important. Might as well protect him over Gus or Eakin

I don't think he's been given a chance to play with decent players (or if he was, not for a very long period of time). SO much talent...you can't give up on that just yet. I have no idea where he slots into this lineup, but he won't produce playing with the likes of Okposo, Eakin, Lazar, or Rieder. Perhaps another year in Rochester this season will boost his confidence ?

From buff36 from last blog :

"Well here's a opinion, we can be happy or upset with who is the President. But unless Democrats and Republicans can come together in some ways instead of constantly trying to bend each other over, it really doesn't matter who wins the Presidency."

I disagree (of course !). It really DOES matter who wins the Presidency - if the guy in charge is an egotistical, arrogant, racist, lying, sexist - who didn't have a plan for - and ignored - a global pandemic (which cost over 200,000 American lives). We don't want that guy in charge of the nation.

However, during any other time/era, if it's two NORMAL, decent human beings vying for POTUS, then yeah, you're probably right.

Well he isn't called Uncle Joe for nothing. Do you really think a different President would have stopped all those deaths. Maybe, I don't see that much of a change. It really comes down to the people of the country not taking things as serious as they could have.

Well again that goes towards Republicans and Democrats coming together, it isn't just the government.

Yes. A different President who didn’t downplay the pandemic saves lives. That’s a fact

The “both sides” argument is a cop out. Sorry

“ An Associated Press analysis reveals that in 376 counties with the highest number of new cases per capita, the overwhelming majority — 93% of those counties — went for Trump, a rate above other less severely hit areas.”

Yes, I do. Trump ignored it. He keeps bragging about "I closed CHINA !", (their travelers fly into California) but he didn't stop travel from Europe to NY until it was too late. 2 million European travelers came into JFK and LaGuardia for 2 months after he closed down travel from CHINA, before he realized the real threat was from Europe. Too late and the state of NY suffered immensely because of his ignorance. He can say "I stopped CHINA" all he wants, but the big killer was travelers into NYC from Europe. His administration finally realized it, but way too late. You never hear him brag about shutting down travel from Europe, just CHINA. Should have closed down travel from both China and Europe at the same time. A concerned, smarter President would have realized that.

Back to hockey. How about them Sabres ? Happy Birthday, Sam Reinhart.

Politicizing mask usage just proves how unbelievably dumb the two-party system is. One side says wear a mask and the other has to say masks are for pussies

So people not adhering to wearing masks or State Governments not cracking down on people not wearing masks, again people, common sense.

It was to late when the first outbreak happened. Could it have been handled better, sure, but this was unprecedented, would a Different President have handled it better, maybe, but who knows.

Well just got a little news, Kuemper is still in play with Buffalo. Talks are still going on between Buffalo and Arizona. Nothing immediate, but still talking.

Good. I like the slower, don't overreact GM-ing. Murray or Botts would've caved by now and given them 2 second rounders + Mitts by now.

An honest question, could Cuomo have shut JFK down? I don’t remember hearing him, or NYC’s mayor, calling for Trump to shut down international flights into JFK. Idk if it would’ve went very much better with a different President, nobody would’ve been eager to shut off the money flowing into NY/the country through that port of entry. Biden railed against the racist Trump when he shut down travel from China, didn’t he? The biggest knock on Trump may be his dismissive nature when speaking to the public about it, saying it’ll just go away soon, and other stupid poop such as that. Hopefully our country can again learn how to work together.
