Prior to Vegas I went through and mock selected and ended up with a team very similar to yours now. One full of names that once were good and promising. Then Vegas drafted and I was shocked that they didn’t follow my approach and the rest was history.

I think Vegas proved that very few formerly productive veterans will actually make it to the team, and they will focus on underappreciated 3rd liners that have never had success but might flourish if given the chance.

Anyways...do you have a Wild GM yet? I’d be happy to submit that list and commentary if not??

Nutivaara should get protected over Stralman 100 times out of 100 and likely Verhaeghe over Saarela.

Agreed. He's got way more upside at this point and a way more reasonable contract

In regards to Verhaeghe I did consider him but also trying to ensure I am leaving two forwards open to meet the two forward exposure conditions.

I expect a healthy mix of the two. Like the rest of you I'm curious to see how this list evolves. I do have a Wild GM and list already but thank you for checking

Yup. Nobody wants to touch Stralmans contract. Verhaeghe is a very good player with tons of speed. He could easily be a 20 goal scorer if given 15 minutes a night with decent players.

Wennberg is UFA at years end and on 50% Retained Salary.

Does he really need to be protected?

Stralman won’t be protected, unless a no trade clause mandates it. Might even be able to get an added draft pick for taking him instead of Hornqvist.
Verhaeghe can be on the list as Wennberg only signed for one year, so he won’t need protection from draft.
