Karine Hains: What if... As the days, weeks and months slowly go by, hockey fans are starting to suffer from hockey withdrawal syndrome. If there is a 2021 NHL season what could it look like?

There's also the idea of too much of a good thing. Having a battle of Alberta 4-5 times a year is fun and something to look forward to. Having a battle of Alberta 13 times a year is too much. Like if you're a baseball fan, you'll watch Red Sox-Yankees in the playoffs, but probably aren't tuning into the 47 regular-season games they play against each other.

I wonder if they could come up with a creative schedule to work with the governments to let them cross the border. Maybe have each team only travel once every week or two weeks and have them play the same team three times in that week. You could also have the road team in all cities be required to bubble.

Schedule grew to 70 in 1949, and will they even get 82 in ?

I think they would obliterate all of the other Canadian teams if they played in a Canadian division. Toronto is extremely top heavy up front without much else, Edmonton continues to find creative ways to suck with all of their early 1rst round picks, Calgary is ok, probably the next best all around team, Vancouver is a dumpster fire, and Ottawa is a rotting sewer. Winnipeg is crumbling to ashes.

Agreed. At this point I'll live with whatever they can safely pull off.

they need to be done by August. they don't want to compete againts the Olympics. if in fact there is Olympics next summer.

so they basically have 6 months, from February to July, to play the season and series.
and that is IF they start in February.
that would be a 4 months season and 2 months playoffs.

not sure about "obliterating", but I also feel the habs would do fairly well in a canadian division
