Do you remember last preseason when we were all so certain that Hutchinson was an upgrade over Sparks and would be at least a little over a .500 backup? We knew he wasn't good, but he would be better . . .

Once bitten, twice shy.

Hutch was not clutch.

Hutch was even worse than not so much.

(BTW, from those metrics, as much as we hate to give him props, Max was bang on with his call for Hutch).

Are you kidding me?

Only a moron would say:

""Hutch is clutch!" I'm hoping I say that more than "Hutch? Not so much!" this year. I think he's good enough to be our backup this year."

Or

"He'll be fine - Leafs fans put too much importance on the quality of backup goalie. FFS, he'll be fine."

A franking moron!

Oh, wait:

I had him playing 24 games, winning 13 of them, and posting a .908%. I thought he could be an answer, but instead he went on a search and found his inner-Kidd.

Saw this as a nasty Twitter post, but...

it's Game 7, Stanley Cup Finals. Your starter just went down. Who gets the call to play in net?

Toskala
Raycroft
Hutchinson
Scrivens
Pogge
Gustavsson

What year is it? Current?

Once upon a time, I went into the Second Cup across the street from where I would walk my dog. There was a fat frank in there with one of those stupid facial hair thingies like Kidd had.

Two minutes into staring at this fat frank, I realized it was actually Trevor Kidd.

If it was 2006 when Hutchinson was 16, the answer probably wouldn't change.

I still think forfeiture should be an option.

I can neither confirm nor deny. But here, drink this, it is refreshing:

Jackie Spier, a Member of Congress was there. She was an assistant to the Congressman who went there to investigate and set off all the killing. She was helping load cultists onto the plane when the attack happened and was shot five times and pretended to be dead. 900 people were killed.

I used to live at Harbour Square - right at the foot of York, and then later with my wife at Queen's Quay. I'd see guys just on the street or eating at local restaurants . . .but it was the kiss of death. I saw Modin, and he was traded a couple of days later. I saw Johnson, and he was traded a week later. The last one was when I saw McCauley eating a bowl of soup at the Kitchen Table at Queen's Quay. I remember saying, "Well, there's no way we're trading him."

The joke/curse loses a bit of integrity because I used to see Domi on a cellphone standing out by the Second Cup near Harbour Square all the time, and Sundin's girlfriend was in our building, so I saw him in the elevator once.

Yup, I'm well-versed (though unrelated, I swear) to the story. I can't imagine what it must be like to be in excruciating pain, waiting to be rescued, and not knowing if you would be discovered or if you would die of injuries.

Crazy.

Tread lightly around cults, people. They're (frank)ing bonkers.

Sure there are some similarities but Republicans are much further down the scum scale. Here’s an example: In May, Democrats in House pass $3T Covid relief Bill with money for people out of work, hazard pay, $ for testing, etc. Republicans in Senate sit on it and did nothing except confirm a Supreme who will cut off health benefits, abortion access, environmental protections. As soon as she was confirmed they closed up the Senate.

There’s lot of sleaze to go around on both sides but there’s no contest where the real poop sits.

Well yeah, there is no Republican party now, it completely abandoned any coherent principles for Trump. My fear is both sides will mutually reinforce each other's reactionary negative partisanship and tribalism until there's no principles other than winning power and punishing Others left anywhere in politics. There's already left groups yelling their own lock her up chants with their fists raised to the pulpit. It's (frank)ed up.

I will say this:

They wanted Hilary locked up because 2 soldiers died in combat, and she used a private email server (which countless other government officials on both sides have done - including Ivanka Trump).

They want Trump locked up for rape, tax evasion, tax fraud, treason, etc.

There's left groups who want her locked up for not being left enough. They literally chant it. It's the reactionary anger of people on both sides who feel betrayed (understandably) that scares me.

But obviously, as much as Hilary sucks, Trump is on a whole other level of pathology. I'd take anyone from either party over him.

Both parties are to the right of where we are here so I’m not in love with either but you can’t compare them and the whataboutism is way off. There hasn’t been a single Democratic leader engaged in that kind of lock em up stuff and Biden whole thing is bipartisanship and working together which means he’s going to get steamrollEd but is the opposite of tribal.

Most Americans are sick of that poop and that’s part of the reason Biden is ahead - that and they’re pissed that Trump is killing them.
