Yes, chopped at the puck and, lo and behold, he chipped it into the net.

Parts of the Zeidel story made me giggle.

If Poile knew Zeidel, what did those pictures prove?

😁😁

I guess he just wanted to show that he wasn't out of place in uniform even in his late 30s but if Poile wanted to hire him for an off-ice role instead, he'd look the part of that, too. It had been 14 years by that point since Poile coached Zeidel and recommended him to Chicago.

Sure, but just because he can get into a hockey uniform doesn't mean he can still play. I guess it could mean he is not obese? But obesity at 39 in the 1960s was very rare.

And the suit!

2001: The Flyers named Keith Primeau as the 13th captain in team history.

I am sure that this tidbit will make MOAT's day!

The entire Richards era teams never rolled on those Shabbos day games either.

Chevy get off your ass and move Liane already. Didnt he take forever and a day to trade Evander Kane too?

Forgot about him.

And then, apparently Nate Thompson is a convert.

Would that be all then?

I'd be surprised if he is looking to trade Laine and if he is, what is the actual hurry to do so?

He was trying to deal him at the draft, the agent has since come out and said a trade would be in everyone’s best interest. We know how these things play out in sports. I’d be surprised if he wasn’t dealt before the season starts at this point.

Might as well deal him now before he outright demands a trade and hurts the return value imo.

Many people have seen Laine's attitude re: trade as that of a malcontent. But he is at least the 3rd top 10 pick of Jets in the past few years I can recall demanding a trade? (Trouba, Kane).

I think the entire he wants to be traded thing is being overblown. The agent is just negotiating publicly. If I was Chevy, I make the decision on what is best for the team regardless of what Laine wants. He's a 22 year old RFA.

And Chevy did not get great returns on those trades either. Trouba actually requested a trade and then they paid him, then for his next deal they couldn’t come to terms and they dealt him. The Kane issue definitely seems strange to this day ( I think both sides bear some blame). Now with Liane it does seem to be a bit of a trend forming...
