Great deal, anything under 5 was a win for the Rangers.

Man the rangers have had two good off seasons. I wish the Devils were on the up and up, miss the match ups from the 90s.

After 94, not so much. Especially when you had a brother who was a devils fan.

I actually would have liked to the see a longer deal, but this is good for both sides and it's a big win to have it done early!

With Nils in waiting I like the 2 year deal. Gives the Rangers a little bit more time to see if they think Nils is gonna work. Plus they still have his rights after the 2 years.

I dont expect anyone to get more than 1 or 2 year deals unless we deal for someone like Cirelli for a couple of reasons. One being the obvious uncertainty of the flat cap and players signing what they can in a financial bind. The other being that over the next 2 years the future core of our team are all due raises (except Panarin and Trouba).

What a GREAT day!
Signing 2 of our RFAs to good , fair contracts where everyone is happy is fantastic!

Now we need Gorton to put the cherry on top of this off-season:

Offer Sheet Cirelli 5 years @ $4.75 mill = $23.75 mill
ZERO chance Tampa could match and they get 2021 1st and 3rd round picks compensation level.

Our 2C problem has a long term solution and we get a defensive forward to help replace what we lost when Fast left. Only 23 years old, so he fits right in with this rebuilt roster.

Strome's rights get traded for a 3rd round pick, so total cost is really only one first round pick ( albeit its unprotected ).

GET IT DONE GORTON!

I doubt anyone gets offer sheeted.

Tbh, Id rather try to work out a deal to move Chytil in a package for Cirelli rather than offer sheet and keep Strome for the 3rd line.

We can't afford both Cirelli and Strome, I choose Cirelli...

Maybe BUF would be willing to part with Reinhart? They have Eichel Cozens Middlestat.
Strome Chytil Buch 2021 1st do it?

Panarin Reinhart Kakko
LAF Zib Kravtsov
Kreider Howden Gauthier
Lemeuix Rooney Smith

ooofa that's a lot

he really hasnt played center much and he's lousy at faceoffs

after mid February he was dreadful too, I think that's when they took him off Eichel's line and tried him centering his own line

https://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/players/6368/gamelog

probably why they went out and got Eric Staal because they realized that Reinhart is better at wing

Good morning Rangers Nation!

Reinhart is not the answer.

Cirelli and/or Nugent Hopkins in my opinion would be much better. Stamkos would be great, but that changes our rebuild plan drastically. To me, it just isn't worth it. We need to stay the course.

Offer Sheets will not happen. GM's gauging other Organizations is certainly not what the League needs in this current climate. Even during good times GM's followed their own unwritten rule of not offer sheeting players from other clubs. Just can't see them doing this now.

Good old fashioned trades, primarily dollar for dollar is going to be the only way to go these days. As well as those Teams hard up against the Cap making trades for picks and prospects. Maybe TB takes picks and a prospect for Cirelli, and Strome is moved for a pick, exactly they way Tommy G Train said, minus the offer sheet.

Would not give up on Chytil. By the time he 28, he's a definite #2 C, and maybe even a #1.

Would not give up on Buchnevich either. His size and offensive skill set opposite Lafreniere, Kakko, Panarin or Kreider is exactly what they will be looking for if they parted ways with him.

Lastly I think Colin Blackwell could be the #3 C we've been yearning for. His pedigree is simple but he appears to be an honest, hard working hockey player with some offensive upside. Kind of like Dominic Moore, remember him? Who knows, maybe he develops into Mark Pavelich. I believe Quinn has watched him since his college days and played a big part in this signing.

Lets Go Rangers! The future is so bright, we are all going to wear shades! (didn't someone say that once before?).

Take good care and enjoy your day everyone.

Nugent-hopkins is mostly untouchable from the mainstream guys. It would cost an elite cap controlled winger to play with McDavid, or a top 4 d and a 3c that edm can afford in their system to acquire him before deadline. Good luck with that.

I cant wait until Edmonton signs RNH to a long term extension with a NMC so we never have to see his name brought up in trade proposals anymore, been going on too many years
