A great week overall... Could be a couple more bargains out there... esp with Vegas jammed up with Petro now.

I get the feeling another move is imminent. We have too many D, unless they're going to San Diego. I don't really follow the Gulls that closely.

I'd say Hoffman.. but that's really risky.. I'd prefer Dadenov.. If we could make it work.

Hoffman is looking to make a 1 year contract this year as his value is at an all time low. I don't see this as too risky. That being said we have no cap space and still need to sign a back-up goalie. Gibson will be Gibson as long as he gets the deserved breaks he needs.

I feel like we will have a bit more of an exciting team this year and won't be in the basement of the standings, maybe closer to the playoff bubble.

Right now we can exceed the cap by 10%. Once the season starts, we have to be cap compliant. Since we'll put Kesler on LTIR once the season starts, we have his 6M available to us now to sign someone.

Right! Completely forgot about the Kesler LTIR! What would you like to see them do with the $6M?

Save it, unless there's some dynamic young RFA that a current club can't afford to sign and we decide to trade for and sign.

The weirdest thing that Bob murry said about tring to win now. Even with all the moves, and the draft, that statement ended up being the biggest thing. I liked the draft. Drysdale fell to us at the 6th pick. Thought he should have went to Detroit or Ottawa. So we got lucky again like last year when Zegras fell to us. Well Bob keeps getting lucky in the draft. Now if he could just use that luck to win a draft lottery.
I'm also ok with Shattenkirk signing with the Ducks. This team needs more offense. Particularly in the powerplay and top foward line. Let's be honest. As fans we wana see Goals scored, big hits, slick passing plays. There are always die hard fans who will show up no matter what. But the average socal hockey fan comes to be entertained. And the last two or three years have been pretty underwhelming. So because because of this I think it is the right move to improve this team. To keep the fan base engaged and invested. The Ducks have made many strides in the last 6 years. Improving the Honda center. Reaching out to the fans in the offseason. Putting a very good team on the ice. And its really built up the fan base. But that can a be wiped out pretty quick. Footballs back in LA. Basketball is going pretty well in Socal. And maybe even our Baseball teams might get there acts together. So the Ducks need to keep the ball rolling. Because I'd hate this to be a situation where the Ducks take two steps foward just to take two steps back. And can remember those days still. I use to search the internet for articles or a blog to talk about the Ducks. Ducks media would just die off after the draft. I mean nothing. But what we have now is way better. We have multiple Web sites, Podcasts, articles coming out every week. I never been happier as a Duck fan. And I really don't wana go back to the way it was. So if Bob wants to improve the team. And the Samuelis are willing to pay. Then kudos to them.
