This was intended to be a riff on how Ek "sourced" the "Toffoli to Edmonton" rumor mere minutes before it was announced he was heading to Montreal, not a knock on Edmonton or the Oilers. But I can see how you misinterpreted. As a Jets fan, it WOULD be rich for me to comment on a player not wanting to sign with another team. No one seems to want to sign with the Jets! Hell, we have a guy who walked away from 14 + million not to play here anymore!! LOL
Actually, I think Edmonton's had a decent off-season and I was excited they got Barrie (and HAPPY they "missed" out on Markstrom!). I like the Barrie, Turris, Ennis signings, but the Smith signing was disappointing, especially considering how much they were prepared to invest to get better in net. I would have picked Dawson Mercer over Holloway in the draft, and I'm worried they've done nothing to improve their defensive game with their moves (as their captain stressed they need to get better at) but I am excited for their coming season all the same.
