I'd come to the same conclusion if Hall signed a multi-year deal with them. He didn't. He'll play on a line with a top 10ish player in the league. If the Sabres blow, Hall can waive his NTC and essentially command where he wants to go for a playoff run in exchange for the waiver. Sabres, in turn, will pick up some assets. If Hall likes playing with Eichel and the team, regardless of whether the Sabres make the playoffs, he can re-up.

I also doubt he got satisfactory long term offers. So why sell low on yourself during an unusual economic situation and take a low total contract value just for the sake of security? This contract says Hall believes in himself. I'm sure that appealed to Adams.

Hall is a great signing by Buffalo and it's a smart business move for Hall. $8M isn't a bad payday and he gets to play on a great line. In one year he gets to hit the UFA market again under hopefully better conditions...

They are in Cap trouble trying to fit Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Connor Hart and Nolan Patrick in. Have you brought them to see you shining Lord Stanley Caitlyn ? Pretty sure they can both buff.
