Born in Buffalo spent 30 years of my life there, and there's a reason I left. Everything about that article and quote still applies and then some.
Listen, I love my hometown, but it's an economically depressed carcass of a city. It failed. Now it's just a really big town, full of townies, with tattoos from head to toe, who drink from noon to midnight, replaced Sunday church with Sunday Buffalo Bills and think they know everything with their associate's degree, that they didn't even finish. - 3rd GM's the charm
Wow, no judgemental stereotypes in this rant.

I'd come to the same conclusion if Hall signed a multi-year deal with them. He didn't. He'll play on a line with a top 10ish player in the league. If the Sabres blow, Hall can waive his NTC and essentially command where he wants to go for a playoff run in exchange for the waiver. Sabres, in turn, will pick up some assets. If Hall likes playing with Eichel and the team, regardless of whether the Sabres make the playoffs, he can re-up.
I also doubt he got satisfactory long term offers. So why sell low on yourself during an unusual economic situation and take a low total contract value just for the sake of security? This contract says Hall believes in himself. I'm sure that appealed to Adams. - Only_A_Ladd
Exactly. Don't understand all the hate from Flyers and Habs fans. The Sabres were 3 points behind MTL with two games in hand for the play-in spot, yet here Habs fans all are acting like they are on the cusp of greatness. On paper, the Sabres are a much better team today than they were in March. That's what counts.

I don't know how you can understand hate from Flyers fans. They hate everything. It's their go to emotion.
Hall is a great signing by Buffalo and it's a smart business move for Hall. $8M isn't a bad payday and he gets to play on a great line. In one year he gets to hit the UFA market again under hopefully better conditions... |

Losers seem to find each other. Buffalo trying to secure first overall - MrPerfect316
Worst record doesn't secure #1 pick overall anymore.

Cant disagree here. If you go to Philly blog most of them hate their own team too

They are in Cap trouble trying to fit Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Connor Hart and Nolan Patrick in. Have you brought them to see you shining Lord Stanley Caitlyn ? Pretty sure they can both buff. - Heywood Jablome
Cap trouble? What situation are you watching. Philly has over 8 mill in cap space to re-sign Myers(approx 3 mill.) and NoPa who didnt play a game all season. Guy will be lucky to get 1 mill.
Cap situation is fine.

This is why you do not want Hall on your team. He obviously doesn't care to win. Joining the Sabres proves that. |
