Poor kid. Biggest day of his life and he has to talk about Star Wars to morons on television instead of hockey.

Yep lol

Was coming this morning to say exactly that

And I would say the opposite if the Rangers had spent a few years in a row the other way

We needed to mix it up and it’s pretty evident the organization felt the same way

I think we had a great draft. I would give an A-

Anthony Duclair not qualified by Ottawa

Only two goals in last 30 games.

That’s not the first time he’s had a tremendous first 30-40 games and then completely died off.

So Toronto didn't QO Evan Rodrigues.

Can you say "Rangers #2 Center?"

Go get him Gorton before it's too late.

Didn't he look pretty good in the game or two he played in playoff qualifier?

I am wondering if all these guys who didn’t get qualified are just working out longer term deals with their teams. Because the names have been rather surprising.

Didn't play one game with Toronto. Are you thinking of Nick Robertson?

Wonder if we see some trades today. Teams trying to get more cap space prior to free agency tomorrow

More likely after teams don't get the UFAs they try for tomorrow -- unless, of course, they are told in advance by the UFA's agent that the player is going to sign elsewhere. Some teams still have salary to dump just to get under the cap.

It may just slow everything down. There might not be a signing frenzy like usual.

Who was it that blasted the Lias Anderson pick during the draft? TomBurton?
I guess its safe to say now, he was spot on, sadly.
We basically traded #7 for #60
Hopefully #60 works out

To be fair he wanted Gabe Vilardi who is apparently made of glass.

You never want to lose a #7 pick like that but I honestly don't think its a big deal. With how many first round picks the Rangers have had over the last 3 years its really not going to set them back, even if Lias does well in LA. Turing him into a 2nd round pick who could fit a big need on this team was a great way to deal with a bad situation.

Exactly. If that was our only one in a few years it would be devastating, but with Kakko, Lafreniere, Kravs... etc its not even worth thinking about

With so many picks, one was inevitably going to be a let down. He was just a really big, humongous let down.
