Anthony Travalgia: What type of player are the Jets getting in Dylan Samberg? Is Jets prospect Dylan Samberg ready to make the jump to the NHL after a successful college career?

Sounds like a very positive addition to the Jets! Time will tell. Hoping for the best.

Hopefully he will become a big, physical d-man the Jets need. Now they have to sign another one who has a mean streak to play with their skilled puck moving players.

Morrissey-Niku
Heinola-Pionk
Samberg-DeMelo

Is our best option sans Pietrangelo

what about Andy Samberg?

I believe he will need a full season in the AHL, but only time will tell. Niku needs to make the leap this year, and hopefully Heinola can round off the promising prospect pool in this D-core with a solid season.

No Don. Article is about Ryne Sandberg.

shift expectations sans Petro:

Morrissey-Demelo
Niku(or is he traded) - Poolman
Kulikov(at about 2m)-Pionk

Samberg and Heinola start the season in the A where they get significant ice time, both see some time with the Jets during the season.

Beaulieu starts the season as a number 7 d. We might see Niku/Beaulieu reversed to start the season until Niku works his way out of the doghouse.

Best case, if all goes well with player progression and health by the end of the season:
Morrissey - Demelo
Heinola - Poolman
Samberg - Pionk

Beaulieu/Kulikov#7 and Niku traded for reasonable return (nothing against Niku, just that we have others who play a similar game and he is looking like the odd man out)

Oh boy that looks inexperienced again!
Me thinks the Jets will go after a few UFA defense versus that young lineup.

A much more realistic scenario and lineup.

I like your lineup but would rather keep Niku, possibly Beaulieu but I never want to see Kulikov in a Jets uniform again. Also no more of Dahlstrom, Bitetto and Sbiza or signing players like this anymore.

I think Kulikov played great this past year! Furthermore, Scheifele and Wheeler really like him.

Here is your Maurice approved line-up

Morrissey-FA
Samberg-Pionk
Cheap Veteran-Poolman

And if you are wondering where Heinola is. The Jets let him play the WJ so he doesn't start the season with the team, and by then it's too late for him to crack the top 6 so the Jets send him back to Europe, and have him come over after it's finished.

Just to continue my series. Potential Laine trade to Buffalo. I know that Buffalo will not trade either Dahlin or Eichel. So I will not mention them, even though I want to.

To BUF: Patrik Laine

To WPG: Sam Reinhart, Rasmus Ristolanen, Dylan Cozens, #8OA

Next up: Calgary

If the Sabres are giving up that package it will be a #2 C PLUS coming back not a RW

Counter offer would be:
Sam Reinhart, Rasmus Ristolanen, Dylan Cozens or #8, 2021 1st top 10 protected

Not a bad trade idea! Do you really think Buf would go for this? I would think they'd want to keep their best winger in Reinhart. If eichel is pushing for immediate success, Im not sure this makes them immediately better.

Jets fans fell in love with Laine when he scored 36 & 44 goals but he looks more like a 1 dimensional 30/35 goal scorer now. Very Good player but not Great!

If you did a 2016 re draft Laine would go 5th behind Matthews, Dubois, Tkachuk, McAvoy and maybe even behind Nylander & Sergachev.

This is a good point!

However in Laine's defense, he's only ever had one coach: Paul Maurice. Maybe if he had a different coach, he would be a better a player?

Jets fans will never find the answer as it appears that Maurice is here forever. I think he has naked pictures of Chipman or something. Thinking about it some more, he might have naked pictures of Chevy too!

Since Maurice is not going anywhere, we might as well get him players he can coach.

Exactly UJ.

What happens if the Jets were to get a 2c, without trading Laine. Last year they got Cody Eakin and moved Wheeler back to the top line and demoted Laine to the second line. The same would probably happen again, then you see the return of 50 point Laine.
