I know depth is more important, but what would help the Leafs more getting Pietrangelo or getting DeMelo and Tanev? |

Shea Weber.... Even Bobby Orr was traded. - bixll
Bobby Orr wasn't traded. He signed as a free agent with Chicago. |

Demelo 🤮
Tanev ✔️ - mr.sir
Tanev is usually injured by the first week of pre-season |

No team will ever have all of its problems addressed. Adding a perennial Norris Trophy candidate who has Captained his team to a Stanley Cup and fills a black hole sized void on the right side addresses a massive gap. |

Isn’t a person with a history of injuries less likely to get them in the future🤔
Things always seem to even out in the end
Living in BC, I watch a lot of Canucks games and can assure you he plays like a warrior. When you block 6-8 shots per game, you take some bruises. Exactly what we need for the playoffs
( not like that midget Demelo) 😡😆 |

How much do you think DeMelo gets on his new contract? |

what about other options - in particular younger d-men?
Pietrangelo window of 3-4 years might be too big of a risk, considering Leafs want to have a chance 6-8 years with their current core of Marner-Matthews-Rielly (and Tavares + others to a lesser extent). |

I think a person with a history of injuries is more likely to break down again than someone who has been consistently healthy their entire career. |

But usually teams can start to address those problems as the cap grows. This situation potentially adds more losses over the coming years. Maybe given the prospect of a flat cap for a while, we might need to fill it with someone for $4M or so less. |

Why do you think I was so excited to correct you about Bobby Orr? This is my safe space where I (very rarely) say something that is accepted as correct. |

There are always cheap pieces to be had that can fill gaps. DeMelo, for example, who everyone* seems to like was only making 900k this year.

You can count me in Mr. Sir's corner on Demelo.
I don't see how Matt Hunwick v2.0 will help Leafs next season. |

those guys would need to be acquired via trade... Parayko, Pesce, Ekblad would all be great additions as well.. |
