Drysdale was not very impressive at the world juniors last year. He was overhyped and he reminds me of Dougie Hamilton who seems to be a great top pairing player but isn't what a team needs when playing in the playoffs. The Ducks should look for a top end center/forward with this pick.

If he's there it's a no brainer...

But if not ... Rossi or Raymond would be pretty sweet also.

Drysdale was playing on the bottom pairing.......the fact that he made the team at all, as a draft eligible 17 year old, says what you need to know. Team Canada NEVER gives big roles to 1st year draft eligible players. Byfield didn't play much either there, Lafreniere didn't play much when he was 17 also.

Drysdale is a can't miss defensive prospect, kid is going to be a top pairing stud.

You should never draft for immediate positional need. Sure RHD might be a position of weakness now, but who knows what free agents and/or trade opportunities will surface between now and 2022/2023 when Drysdale is ready for the NHL.

Drysdale is overrated IMO. If a Perfetti or Raymond are still available, the Ducks should go that route (Perfetti was my choice for the Kings back in May/June before they won the #2 pick in the draft lottery and were expected to pick at 4 or 5).

If Drysdale is available I can't imagine the Ducks not taking him. He checks too many boxes where the Ducks are deficient right now. He'll, the fact that he's a right shot and can run the power play are enough for me ro take him. That Drysdale is a decent defender and a good passer is gravy. I hope he's still there at 6.

I think the Ducks are uniquely positioned to target NYR with a trade for Lafreniere. They have exactly what NYR is looking for, a second line C (Henrique), left side D help (Lindholm) and the sixth pick. On its own it's a gross overpayment, but bring over TDA and a cap dump (Smith) to make the money work and that looks like a win-win to me.

that's a (frank)ing horrible deal for New York. The rangers laugh at that deal if it's only for the pick, and you actually think they'll throw in a valuable young dman too

1st pick >>>>>>>>>>>>>> 6th pick
TDA >> Lindholm

also, there are like 10 teams who are better positioned to make a deal than Anaheim.....including every team picking ahead of the ducks (Ott, LA, Detroit)

I mean, if I am talking to the Ducks, then the package has to be based around Zegras and the 6th overall pick

I have no interest in acquiring guys like Henrique for the first overall pick, I dont want to have to protect more guys in the expansion draft than I have to

it's a laughable proposal (especially asking for DeAngelo also), it would be like if Ottawa offered the 5th, colin white and wolanin...........3 good assets, but i'm not naïve enough to think it would be anywhere near enough.

I wouldn’t do Trevor & 6 for AL... Trevor is going to make a lot of people look stupid for passing on him...

& Drysdale is going to be a really good D man in this league for a long time..
If there’s anything we’ve learned during this playoffs it’s young, smooth skating, highly skilled D men are a must

you might not do it, but that's what it would take (and more) to get the 1st pick. the suggestion that it could be had (along with DeAngelo) for the 6th pick a past his prime 2nd/3rd line centre, and a 25 year old #4 dman is laugable

Who would that be? Trade isn't happening, let's get real, but who is this 25yr old #4 D'man you're referring to?

are you suggesting it's laughable that I said he's a #4?

maybe he's not in Anaheim, but Anaheim (like Ottawa, Detroit, etc) is a really bad team. He absolutely would be a #4 (or lower) if he played in New York. he'd be behind Trouba, DeAngelo (if he stays) and Fox for sure, and maybe Skjei.

Dylan DeMelo played top pairing in Ottawa, because our team is awful, but I know he isn't a top pairing dman

Lindholm is 26, not 25. Anaheim finished 4 games under 500, hardly in the same category as Ottawa (9 under) or Detroit (32 under). But thank you for sharing your esteemed opinion.

thank you for helping to prove my point by pointing out that Lindholm is even older than I thought.

And Anaheim is a bad team, trending down towards Ottawa and Detroit, certainly not the other way. I said that Lindholm played on a bad team, hence the reason he played higher in the lineup than he would on a stronger team.

So other than getting his age wrong by a WHOPPING 1 year, what did I say that was inaccurate.

Someone sounds a little but hurt that his team sucks.

Oh, and looking at the standings, the ducks had 5 more wins and 5 more pts than Ottawa......so the ducks are much closer to the bottom than they are to sniffing a playoff berth.
