The $17M is needed to sign 5 forwards, 3 d-men, and a goalie. Blowing most of this on Hall and Markstrom isn't possible. Not to mention the silly Gaudreau for JVR + Ghost trade that adds another $4.75M to the cap. Or is that not happening anymore? It's almost as if these sources don't even know the Flames...

Umm, Calgary is not doing any of these things. But it's cute that you fell for all this.

The $17M is needed to sign 5 forwards, 3 d-men, and a goalie. Blowing most of this on Hall and Markstrom isn't possible. They aren't making that bad Gaudreau trade...they could certainly make the rest happen with a couple other player moves its not all that complicated.

Hard part is getting them to sign...Calgary is certainly driving up the price for Vancouver

Hall + Markstrom probably requires $15M. Ok I'll be nice and say $14M. So that leaves $3M to sign 7 other players, including a raise for RFA Mangiapane. Sorry. This is silly. Hall has no ties to Calgary and isn't going there. And Gaudreau isn't being considered for 2 overpaid underachieving bums from Philly. This "source" might not be an insider.

If calgary thinks they’re going to rip off the flyers for jvr and ghost...they'll have to throw a couple of 1sts in the deal. With the right sweetener...chuck and i MIGHT consider parting with the extremely gifted power forward JVR...
