Nice write up Pach. Hopefully all the nay-sayers and bridge jumpers can climb down and get behind Eric Staal. I think it was a great trade by Adams and Staal will be an excellent addition to the Sabres.

Was in shock when I got on my phone and saw the Sabres' Instagram post about the trade. Shocked because it was an actual great, one-sided trade that we won ! Oh, and he's a good player that makes us instantly better then last year.

Anybody see the new "Challenger : The Final Flight" documentary on Netflix ? Really interesting/good. The NASA incompetence is all I can think about today. Those poor astronauts...all dead because of a couple of morons wanted the twice-delayed takeoff to go on - despite there being icycles all over the Challenger that morning. Makes me so angry ! Anyway, check it out !

I was 20, going on 21 later that year so I didn't pay much attention to this tragedy back in January of '86 (was busy being a punk and going to The Continental back then), so this was a great reminder of the disaster. Another Netflix masterpiece.

Staal said it was a blow and he said it would've made things easier if he got a heads up, but they didn't need to do that. Kids are upset because they've already started school and hockey. He said they'll get excited about the idea once they get some Sabres shirts @TheInstigators

From what I can recall they were rushed into that dangerous decision on a push from the White House. I did an editorial on that subject for the school newspaper and the gist of it was that the President Reagan did in fact want the Challenger up in the air for some reason I can't recall . I guess I'll have to look for the piece. Which is buried somewhere

I'm just sad that he'll be a Sabre.

Dude is a genuinely great person. Dunno how many points he has left in him but he's going to be a great influence on the team.
