He is very high on the Senators draft situation, he said:
"I've made my seven choices for the Ottawa Senators in Recrutes two-round mock draft, and...my goodness...the NHL club is going to be teeming with young talent come mid October. This is simply going to be a game-changing draft for the franchise."

I would prefer Rossi but there is little lost from an asset management perspective if they draft Sanderson or Drysdale. Ottawa is going to be knee deep in prospects. They will need to make some trades (moving prospects out) as they build their team. Good young Dmen grow in value as they age and Drysdale or Sanderson may prove out to be great assets...but I do love Rossi! |

I agree. I think PD is going for family played hockey players. Jake's dad (Geoff) was drafted 2nd round #36 overall and drafting tkachuk I wonder if dorion feels players with hockey ties in the family is the key? Lol.🤔🤔 |

Sanderson leapfrogged Drysdale months ago, don’t be shocked if the Senators pick him third if LA takes their preferred player at number 2. Two of Bob MacKenzie’s 10 nhl scouts ranked Sanderson number 3 in this years draft. In his last 2 USA tournaments as captain of the team he displayed an offensive flair that shocked the scouts. He was already ranked number 1 in defensive play. This is why he is the fastest riser in the draft.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I thought you were in the camp to not take a goalie in the first round? if true, curious to the change of heart.
Granted, Askarov looks like a quality mid-round pick. |

I'm growing more on the idea of Byfield/Stutzle and Raymond as our 3 and 5 picks. The murmurs of Jake Sanderson rising are interesting. I don't think I would be disappointed drafting Sanderson but would be surprised. This team lacks potential high scoring wingers in the system but have relatively ok defence coming through and have Chabot theoretically locked in as the #1 d-man. Then again, Sanderson could be be the real deal and even better than Chabot, which is an easy conclusion reading some of the things written about him. Interesting scenarios for sure. |

If the Senators do pick Sanderson then there is little doubt with his pedigree he would quickly pass Chabot to be their best defenseman. Sanderson is also one of the youngest players in the draft, Byefield is older. Sanderson's potential has to be one of the biggest debates among the Sens scouts. As he and Chabot both play the left side they would basically play half a game each. That is much better than the alternative of fielding some prospects.

I've never been so lost in what PD wants to do. Who he wants to sign extension/ trade for/ or pick at the draft. Will they pick up a goalie? Will someone be bought out?
The only thing that was clarified was the new logo and fact there will be no captain named this year. Whats going on inside his head?🧐🧐🧐 |

No to Sanderson.
I feel like we’re complicating a pick for no reason.
It should be Drysdale or a forward.

Good lord - take him (Sanderson) at 5 if you feel that strongly about him - he will still be there. Makes no sense to take the second best d-man in a forward deep draft. I am counting on the Sens scouting team to be smarter than this . |

Sanderson points raised by the Sens fan above are valid. I would be happy with Raymond - very happy. Even Drysdale but at this point I feel like Sanderson may be the better choice long term |

What I find funny is that throughout the months of speculating who the sens will pick at #5 is anyone's guess. When I first heard about the deep draft and the top 10 players I did some research about each one of them. What I've heard was PD was heavy on Rossi and his style of play comparing him to crosby with his low center of gravity and a hard player to get the puck from. Then I heard raymond was the man at #5. Then it was perfetti then drysdale and now weeks ago craig button saying it was sanderson at #5 for sens. My take on it and my only picks are go with forwards. ITS MY FINAL ANSWER UNTIL THE DRAFT.🤔 I CAN SAY I WILL NOT REGRET PASSING ON DRYSDALE OR SANDRSON
#3 Byfield or stutzle
#5 (a) rossi or (b) raymond (c) (perfetti) |
