definitely would like to see Matthew in Ottawa to play with his brother sedins 2.0.

CGY:

Matthew Tkachuk

OTT:

Connor Brown
2020 1st round pick (Islanders Pick)
2020 2nd Round Pick (Dallas pick)
2021 6th Round Pick ( Ottawa)

Matthew was diagnosed with a concussion can that be a thing to watch out for the future. its why didn't go hard on the trade made it fair. Also helps Calgary with their cap issue.

if not look out for Gabriel Landeskog @ 5.5 million 1 year left on contract. Avs are down 2-0 series. i can see some changes if they lose this series.

Dude. With how the 2nd round of the playoffs is going so far, you're getting Mikael Backlund for that package, give or take.

If you want Tkachuk it starts with the 3rd overall and then you add from there.

Do not think about any deal for Matthew if Brady has not signed a long term deal.

Give far too much leverage to a family that has proven to be shrewd and self motivated in negotiating contracts.

Also brother combinations on teams often prove problematic.

Maybe this is a reach too far.

Multiple teams need makeovers.

No team needs Matthew more than the Leafs.

If you are the flames would you take Marner even up for Matthew or would you want a sweetener added into the deal?

From John Shannon:

"Hearing the NHL and PA have had preliminary talks about next season. One proposal is to create 4 bubble cities, and rotating all 31 teams in those venues in 8 game increments.

At present, there’s no indication if all the cities would be in Canada.

But makes the most sense."

NHL has decided to push Stanley Cup schedule to finish in late September.

You can tell the Leafs are in a world of hurt having failed to make playoffs.

TheAthleticNHL is doing a feature on the teams with the best young players/prospects.

So, they have entirely changed the rules this year to squeeze Austin Matthews into the qualifying criteria (regardless of the number of NHL games played). They have included him in the profile even though he did not qualify for the past previous two years of evaluations. These are desperate times for a fragile Leaf fan base. Even more desperate for the media that promotes and covers the Leafs.

This might be a trivial matter. But it gives you a solid reading on just how inflammatory the entire situation is around Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.

If Calgary is going to trade Matthew Tkachuk then they should ask for Brady.

Any discussion about Tkachuk going to OTT would and should b met with what it would take to get Tkachuk from OTT. Gaudreau to OTT for Brady should be about right, since OTT doesn't need any more loser draft picks. Gaudreau would thrive in the East. Probably put up 100 points per year.

After these playoffs and going forward, pretty sure Tkachuk, Bennett (even), Dube, and Andersson are almost untouchable. Trading Tkachuk, a proven, effective and almost elite player in the NHL approaching his prime for two lottery picks even would not be smart. The chance that one of those picks develops and becomes an impact player is high, but still, its risky. If I'm the Flames GM, I listen and make inquiries with certain targeted teams regarding any of the following players: Hanifin, Gaudreau, Monahan, Ryan, Backlund, Rittich, Gio, and Kylington (who I like, but apparently management doesn't). GFG!

That’s an idiotic trade for Ottawa and Dorion would laugh at Treliving is that was the offer. Gaudreau is 27 and probably on the backend of his prime years. How does that help a rebuilding team.

The more llikely scenario is Brady goes to Calgary for Hanifan and Monahan

There is less than zero chance that Brady goes to Calgary for anything. He’s the face of the team, and likely future captain. I can’t see a package that the flames could put together (realistically) that could convince Dorion to move him.

Did you even read the blog? He said the chances of the flames trading him were next to none.....basically a “a guy can dream” type of blog.

Any realistic person knows that Tkachuk is about as close to untouchable in cgy as his brother is in Ottawa.

HAHAHA are you high? NO way the Flames are going to trade MT19 to Ottawa. Maybe you can give us the 1st round picks, Brady, Chabot and a big bag of cash to make us think about the deal.

No, but its closer than a lot of offers weve seen that involve a combination of lesser picks and random prospects.

Any trade would have to hurt to do, and involve one of the 3rd or 5th overall (plus).

...unless we trade chabot, which is a nonstarter.
