Agreed

and you have way too much time on your hands to go sifting through archives to find the Tom quote about tanking for Lafreniere!

- TommyGTrain

haha, it really wasn't that difficult

what I actually was looking for the post that I wrote where I was the first one who told Tom about Lafreniere in the first place, I know I was

I love when you post stuff from back in 2011 or something. I actually sound normal and smart in my posts. What happened

I feel like one of the young players/prospects at forward is getting dealt, I just got that feeling

Buch/Chytil/Kravstov somebody like that is goin

- jimbro83

Can see that for sure. Don't see us going after Eichel though, can't afford it.

I think they have too many young guys who top out on the 3rd line right now

And don't have the mindset yet to be role players. Howden looks like he's on his way to becoming one though, which is nice that he's not being forced into a top 6 role anymore.

and they are all lefty shots too, which I think gives the edge a bit to Gauthier getting 3rd line chance next season because he is right handed, especially if Fast leaves

Got all googly-eyed when he played his first playoff game.

Howden will be perfect for the 3rd line, like how he is developing.

I feel like all the young guys lack being able to finish

hopefully Gauthier can, he scored in the AHL, but I don't know the puck just doesn't seem to go in for these guys much yet

why would we want a 10 million player when we can have a potentially elite player at 875K the next three seasons?
- jimbro83

Thank you!! Eichel is an elite player, not taking anything away from him but his cap hit starts to shut the window, we could potentially have a dynasty on our hands, I'm not overreacting, we're that loaded in all aspects

Need to fill one hole and that's 2nd line center, I like Strome but unless it's a bridge deal what will he look like at the end of a long term deal? I'm intrigued by the RNH talks

Yes and that's why I'm not concerned with moving on from Fast

what bothers me about RNH is one year until he's a UFA

so you trade assets for him and then have to give him a sizeable contact long term to make that worth it and then you have Zib on the horizon

#NYR prospects Karl Henriksson and Lias Andersson are expected to play their first pre-season games of the 2020-21 season today, as Frolunda plays against HV71. Henriksson is expected to begin the game on Frolunda's first line.

I'm almost at the point of riding out next season with the pieces we have and not looking to make the splash this year. Seems silly to trade away pieces of the rebuild unless they have contracts expiring (ADA/Georgiev/Strome).

My gut says Hank is retiring and we don't even have to lose any of them. But maybe that's wishful thinking.

1) Bridge deal for Strome otherwise trade his rights
2) Yes, he's gonna end up in Philly IMO
3) No ADA earned praise this season and I'd sign him long term
4) Quinn talk is premature, he's been here for 2 years of a rebuild, we've progressed, Ziba and Panarin had career years, ADA exploded, Fox stepped right in
5) Yes we should, Hank has to see the writing on the wall, I'd like to see him retire, go back home and play a season with his brother where it all started for him.
6) Chytil has the talent, will he put the work in to become better in the dots?
7) Rangers are loaded on the back end, Hajek looks like a 7th defenseman and you still have Robertson, Zac Jones, Hunter Skinner, both of those guys could be steals, Reunanen and Rykov still in the system
8) Not sold that Kravstov will be, has to have a strong camp
9) Buchnevich IMO is now the first man out, he's shown a lot of potential at times but is still inconsistent.
10) Captain Chris Kreider
11)Howden has one more year to show he can hang and take the next step.
12) 3game sweep is done, in the past, after a 4 month layoff it would have been nice to have seen a continuation of that fast paced high scoring play but honestly putting any expectations on them wasn't fair, still wasn't on goaltending
Finish the last 13 later

Yeah that is my only concern as well, if Gorton can use his Jedi mind tricks to get Edmonton to take back Strome's rights as part of the deal I'd take my chances

yeah I wish

I just usually completely dismiss a team wanting to reacquire a player they traded

especially Strome, he was so bad there
