Agreed. But going with the presumption that they don't trade him.

Also, the depth for top 6 LW is not great...who do we have coming up on that side?

LW are a dime a dozen

I'd be fine with a decent D prospect + a pick as a return

a move like that would be very much in line with Bergevin's rebuilding/not rebuilding approach to building/re-building this hockey team.

You don't think that's the right move? The other option is a fat contract!

That's awesome! I'm trying to shed some lbs too, I'm down 4 lbs, 6 more to go.

Doing ok otherwise. We have a lot of little family trips planned so looking forward to that.

Meh... good C can turn wingers into top 6 wingers!

Right now they have Tatar, Drouin, Domi, Byron, Lehkonen and Poehling as options on the left side, it's not a very hard position to fill.... obviously not talking about finding an Alex Ovechkin just about anywhere but middle of the pack LW are not a problem

i don't think there really is a right/wrong move because this team isn't taking a specific approach to building. if you can get well above market value return for him, trade him. but if not keep him and sign him. they're obviously trying to be competitive right now and they lack offensive capability. as for the cap space, i don't really care either. they've spent 3 years well under the cap and idgaf about Geoff Molson's balance sheet.

i cannot recall a player who creates so much opportunity for himself through hard work and industrious play, and combines it with the finishing ability of a blind Chris Higgins.
