UFA’s don’t want to sign with mtl:
1) franchise is rudderless
2) high taxes
It’s not like the great kevin hayes who could have signed with anybody...but chose to be on a sure fire winner.
Keep up with that KILLER 5 on 5 and PK play Hazey...
We really appreciate the leadership and commitment you bring every day to help make us THE NUMBER 1 SEED IN THE EAST!!!
As for nylander...i could talk to chuck about a 1 for 1 with hagg...but honestly i think AV would veto it cause nylander is such a candy ass defensively...just not the type of player that helps you win games in april, may, june, july, august, september, or october.
On second thought...i’m hanging up the phone. I’m not going to waste chuck’s valuable time. |

Nylander is not the main problem and won't be the the solution.
You can't afford depth in the rest of the lineup when 3 players cost over $10M/season each. Instead of signing Tavares, the Leafs could have afforded a stud D and kept Kadri. But they're stuck with him due to a NMC.
Not learning from the Tavares over-pay, they then signed Marner for over $10M/season as well. Despite that, Marner will get you more than Nylander (whose value is currently low) and also better relieve the cap issue. He should be the trade chip, not Nylander.

Hoffman to the Habs is a non starter...Bergevin is a character guy...no way he takes on Hoffman's baggage (his wife) who killed the Sens.... |

I dont see why not, can't punish a guy forever because of what his wife did. I'm sure she has learned to shut her mouth because it can endanger her husbands paycheck.
I also have no issues with Hoffman anymore tbh, what's in the past is done.

It’s nice to see ranger cast offs helping the flyers end their 10 plus years rebuild but beware Bruce maybe not this round but the deeper you get the better chance your new coach will be severely out coached and the flyers will get beat! Been their done that. But it must be nice to be relevant after a ten year rebuild though! |

Tonight, talking to those inside (and outside of) the bubble I am hearing talk of three teams with a serious interest in Leafs William Nylander..
- Eklund
I'm hearing the same thing inside the bubble, but I can't hear a darn thing from outside the bubble. There's no reception in here at all.

Well if anyone would know rudderless it's a flyers fan. Montreal has been burned by the UFA bug before. It undoes a teams salary structure and I just think giving the prospects a chance on entry level contracts will be sustainable. Kevin Hayes is a good player but hard to say he's not overpaid. Flyers will be still paying him 7.1 M when he's thirty-five. Yikes! The guy has averaged way below fifty points his entire career. Think about that for a second. |

I’d rather keep the guy who likes to touch the puck in the playoffs. Nylander can go and we’ll cast off 1 of the 3rd liners to find some more savings if needed. |

This make sense, but if they can trade Nylander instead of Marner for a 1st pairing D-man(ideal) or a 2nd pairing guy (maybe), it WILL be done! And Johnnson and a couple more will be ex-leafs via trade as well. |

HOW in the world would Jesper Fast make the Canadiens any better ... unless he signs for so little that he can be the 4th line centre.

I'd trade Nylander and Kapanan to Columbus for Werenski. Doubt that would happen but a guy can dream |

34.
Joe pavelski last summer signed a 3 year deal with dallas for 7 mill per.
He was 35.
Carter hart will make 734k next season AND win the vezina trophy.
Double yikes!!! |

You know what they say...one team’s trash is another team’s conn smythe winner.
Enjoy paying all your floater “high end” wingers. That salary cap recipe has really worked wonders for the leafs! |
