Jakey with the G and apple but to my eyes he's not close to where he was when he was injured. Probably to be expected after that kind of injury and that long of a layoff. Hopefully he gets back to the Jakey G we know.

While I did predict the Rags in 5...its not happening and it was indeed a dumb prediction.

However, I did want the Canes to win, so thats good.

Hasn't even been close.

Looking forward to the next round (though this one is technically not done yet)

You guys look like a well oiled machine right now and I mean that regardless of your current competition. I'm glad the Pens wouldn't be facing you in round one if they make it passed MTL.

I must of missed reading on the possible seeding on the next (1st) round of playoffs. Can you send me a link so I can check it out? I dont have a clue how they're doing the seeding after this preliminary round. Or you could just nutshell it here if you have time haha.

Tampa, Washington, Philly and Boston are duking it out for 1-4 and the winners of the qualifiers will each play one of those teams unless I'm mistaken.

Yeah that makes total sense haha. Sooo...how is that decided though? Say for instance Tampa ends up top seed in the east, do they play the lowest (heading into preliminaries) seeded team from preliminary winners?

My guess is a traditional seeding. 1-8, 2-7, etc... I can't envision any other way since technically all the winners could come out of the Metro.

My understanding is that yes, that is how it will work. If the Pens win they will play the lowest seed among the top four no matter what (which at the moment is Boston). If Montreal wins then they will play the highest seed among the top four no matter what. For everyone else it is up in the air.

I think they played better in Game 2 than in Game 1, I am pretty sure all the advanced stats back this up. They also had more traffic in front of Carey Price and made him make more difficult saves.

Lol what (frank)ery it will be if our reward for being the highest seed to come out of the play in is getting Boston in round 1. Or is it round 2?

Yea that would suck. And technically yes it would be the first round. These are just qualifiers. I would love to take out Boston though,we owe them.

I would say yes, but I don't think the soon-to-be 41-year-old has it in him to play PP on top of his regular shifts. He has gotten the lowest TOI in each of the first two games and hasn't looked very peppy. This was the risk with signing a guy this old - just like with Cullen, at a certain point, they just run out of gas.

My choices for left circle / half wall PP1 would be:

1. Zucker
2. Sheary (if he moves to the third line)
3. McCann

The rest of the spots are obvious.

On the flip side, I can't imagine Boston thought when they were leading the East all year that their reward could be Pens in the first round.

That pass by Sheary was a thing of beauty! Murray was tight and a great stopper. Loved that thud of Sid' goal on the net pad. A wonderful sound.

It was a nice play all around from the D zone tip, the neutral zone speed then the patience to make the play to Zucks

Rust. Right handed. Was our leading goal scorer. Has the balls to drive the net.
He's a key PK'r so maybe that's why he doesn't get the opportunity.

So a right-hander is preferred on the left circle? I was thinking LW since they are used to playing on that side. Is PP different due to the time it takes to receive a pass and/or easier to pass to the point instead of across one's body?
