Ferland-Petey-Boeser in game 2?
- NorthNuck

Why not?

Clearly Ferland isn't gonna play the minutes of Petey and BB.
JTM is the guy i'd rotate through the lineup a bit. He's either their leader or the guy they all want to kill. Anyways, I think he can bring out the best in a few players.

There's people saying Greens lineup decisions are giving off big Willie D energy

But these guys aren't your future. I wouldn't commit long term money to TT. Pearson was a nice save after a brutal Guddy trade. No reason to assume he has a future here neither. Six years in, time for the youth aside from a few gems to really start taking over the lineup.
- golfingsince

I’d give TT a year 1yr covid contract. Pearson has 1yr left & could be trade bait.

I'll say in Green's defence it's hard to create a lineup when you've played once in 4 months.

You can't play this poop safe, you have to go with your instincts.

Welcome! I’m curious what about last night compelled you to create an account...was it just the novelty of seeing hockey after +5 months?

Even though we all knew going in to this the team wasn't that great, I was expecting more fight from them, some more push back and intensity.

Thinking back on the game I can't really remember that many moments or chances where I felt they were close to imposing their game on the Wild. There was that long stretch in the second, but that was mainly zone time and not great opportunities.

Hoping we see everyone from the coaches on down step up and be better prepared for the next game. Hard pressed to win 3 of the next 4 playing anything like that.

Ferland tried to manufacture it but it’s hard to motivate the walking dead. When was the last time you saw legitimate intense aggression from this team? As a whole the Canucks have been emotionally void for years.

That’s why we all were so blown away when JTM joined the team. We thought “wow, now that’s a captain”. No, that’s just how most players approach the game and as a fan base we just haven’t seen that kind of swagger since 2010/11.

I'm quite happy Ferland is healthy and competing. He's bringing that element – maybe he needs to get moved up to Bo's line to help generate some offense. But ya, it is not a hallmark of the Canucks. It's unfortunate because it's been there a few times this year, but it's not consistent and seems dependent on the circumstances and not the team.

I think Bo is not living up to that captaincy, not the way most people want him to really. He needs to set a tone and it seems like he's coasting. I even noticed a few times last night he'd turn the puck over then do a wide circle and slowly stride back.

Just gonna say it now, they should put Toffoli with Horvat and Pearson.
- golfingsince

100%.

I swear Green is pulling a Babcock because people want Toffoli/Pearson he is keeping them apart on purpose.

Great point...that is exactly what’s going down.

EASIEST offense to shut down is a 1 player/1 line scenario...

Minnesota aren’t even a good team!

Canucks are not built for the playoffs, you don’t win in the playoffs by being a purely offensive team that relies heavily on goaltending, I said it before and they proved it tonight.
- Pacificgem

That's true right now but will change over time. Marky with two weak ones didn't help either lol

Jake should have been in and LE needs to play. Green's arrogance will kill us if he doesn't get his head out of his ass.

But I had Minny in 4 anyways lol this is not a PO team not this year anyways.

Bo, Pearson, TT, JTM have all been bad tonight. Tough to win when 2/3 of your top 6 aren't going.
- NewYorkNuck

I’m a ranger fan and JTM fan, but he has not really shown up for the playoffs over his career.
