What an awful (frank)ing penalty.

The most important thing for a goalie is to be low-variance. Mike Smith is the antithesis of that. Choosing him was an awful decision. You rely on your high-variance guy AFTER your low(er)-variance guy falls short, not the other way around.

1. The schedule said EDM V CHI at 3pm. At 3:30pm I was still watching black lives matter.
2. Soooooooo excited to watch Oilers playoff hockey, and especially pumped for the musical hockey intro....Bob Marley, Nelson Mandela???? Really?
3. Smith sucks, he lost this game for us very early.
4. It would be nice if Draisaitl would break a sweat.
5. Thanks Connor, we don't deserve you.
6. Oilers will win the lottery.

For whatever reason, they were not ready.

Put Sean's difference maker James Neal out there.

This is SO true, dreadful coaching decision to start Smith.

Sean M, “ Edmonton wins easily” if they play the entire game on the Powerplay.

It's not bandwagoning. We are all clearly fans of this team.

We are all also incredibly disappointed that they're playing like a (frank)ing peewee team.

Yeah, this isn't Draisaitl's fault. His line is the only team that has any zone time whatsoever.

next game. Tippet is keeping him in reserve as his secret weapon to get chicago into having false confidence.

He just doesn't move his feet. I know he had 100+ points, but he really looks like he does not give a fuuuuke.

How do you compliment McDavid, who has been awful all game, but go after Draisaitl, the only play who has a line who has had decent zone time?

Because he doesnt move his feet...he doesn't win ANY puck battles, he looks like he doesnt care. Watch the game. Let me know when he wins a puck battle ORRRRR ORRRRRRR when he loses a battle and doesn't sit back on his heels feeling sorry for himself and watch the play go the other way. The game is about the small battles...he loses most of them.

Then fault McDavid for that same thing because he hasn't won a single one all day AND has given the puck away on bad passes AND has been on-ice for 3 5-on-5 goals. He's also being outshot almost 3-1 when on-ice. Watch the game.

People have preset biases towards players. A lot of people rag on Draisaitl (for absolutely no reason).

Personally I rag on Benning.

You, I'm not too sure 🤔

Edit: Ah you know what, it's Kris Russell.

Which by the way, him and Benning have been their best pairing tonight.

Seriously the Oilers fleeced Calgary so bad in the Lucic trade I just dont understand why Neal has only played like 5 shifts.

Kassian, probably. Klefbom hasn't exactly endeared himself to my good books over the past couple years, either.

When Kassian is on, he's such an effective player. When he's off like he is today, he's just meh.

I don't mind Klefbom. Solid top 4 dman. Didn't reach his potential sadly.

Nope. He's a mildly effective player when he's at his peak and when he's off he's abhorrently bad. Zero defensive conscience, limited offensive skills, and stupid penalties.
