Brind'amour has not been playing the underdog card at all.

His message, and the message from the team, has been that the regular season match up doesn't matter and that the Canes are the favoured team and should play with that attitude.

The message is that they're a good team. They're the better team. Play like it and show them just how much better.

The Canes are a pretty quiet group of players. He's been trying to inject some swagger.

Hey Ek. A week ago you posted an article with all of this detailed analysis of winning percentages since January 1, and then regulation points since January 1...you know, the one with a bunch of incorrect data.

That data showed Florida to be heavy favourites against the Islanders. Also showed NYR to be favourites against Carolina. But now you pick the opposite?

So you first come up with some random criteria to determine who will win, but then ignore it for 2 of the 4 series. Nice work.

With Panarin and Duchene being their top playoff scorers...

Oh and Vasilevsky had a .857 save % in that sweep...

the Blue Jackets scored 30 goals in the playoffs last year.

10 of those came from Duchene and Panarin.

Exactly. They are simply not the same team. They worked "Hard" last year, yes. But they had the talent to go with it. And will the Leafs poop the bed like Tampa did and their goaltending be that bad? Doubtful.

I don’t care very much for articles that willfully ignore The Flyers.

What are you trying to hide?!?

CBJ in 4 or 5.

Bingo, I understand that a lot of offense left the CBJ last year.

Last time I checked this is the 2019-2020 season, not the 2018-2019 season. The CBJ lost more man-games than any team in the league this year, including most of their offense. All but Josh Anderson are healthy now, and a lot of young players did well this season.

And at best for Toronto the Goalie situation is a wash, especially with the well-known weakness in the Leaf's D-core that leaves Anderson hung out to dry too many nights.

It should be a good series, but dismissing the CBJ is a bad call.

i think the jackets can make it interesting, but I don't think the have the firepower to actually hang in there if the game opens up.

I LOVE PLD but you have to admit the roster leaves a lot to be desired. Hard working and some great talent on D, but they look kind of like the Preds teams from 2005-15 that were always good enough to be competitive in the first round but never really got anywhere.

LOL at you guys talking about CBJ. Did anyone catch Tanner's article on his other site. Let me recap:

-Leafs will win the Cup
-they have the best depth at centre in the NHL
-the best LW depth
-the best RW depth
-the best 4th line
-the best 7th defenseman
-the best roster ever constructed in the cap era

There wasn't any reference to Jfresh cards and WAR levels though. But they probably are the best too.

Not looking ahead but I’m pretty sure if the Isles win they are playing Tampa. Did something change since then?

Depends who wins the play-ins doesn't it? I think there's a re-seed based on who wins. So if Montreal beats Pitt, they don't become the 5 seed.

I could be wrong.

1. Round robin decides seeds, but ties from rr record are broken by reg season ppg.

2. Teams that 'play-in' to playoffs are ranked afterwards according to regular season record (ppg), with no bearing on rankings of play-in record.

3. After that, per usual.

Thats what my understanding is.

No, stopped reading Tanner’s crap months ago when he spouted off all his BS political views. The guy’s head is a train wreck.

But the comments don’t surprise me, he’s a Leaf Homer
