I just want Zadina playing as much as possible. Develop those skills, gain some confidence and hit the ice running come January. Same goes for Seider. I hope Zadina can avoid the injury bug. Knock on wood.

Amen. Whatever Mantha did a year or so ago, I hope he implements. Big mo skates better than ever. This kid is getting it, knows he needs to get his shot off way quicker in the bigs. Exciting to see him working out with that club

Absolutely. Mostly because the walk from Czech to Michigan could really mess him up.

In all seriousness, these kids get an eye opener in the bigs. It’s hard to believe how strong/fast these guys are. Amazing athletes

Yzerman has mentioned previously that he's impressed with Zadina's work ethic and attitude. He just needs to put it all together. He was showing signs of that before his injury.

Given his skill set, work ethic, attitude and added experience, I think we could see a more well rounded Zadina in Detroit next season. Maybe he can put on some muscle over the next few months too. Build up that core strength. 👍

Zadina needs the reps, get his confidence back up where it was before the draft and play with some offensive minded players and he’ll be fine.

While he’s a smaller player, he’s learning to creat space and get that shot of quicker. He just needs the time to figure it all out.

Mantha learned to skate and now he’s on the verge of being dominant. Just needs to stay healthy and he’ll put up 40 goals, no doubt.

Zadina should be in the 30 range at some point but it all depends on the talent around him for now.

Keep up the great work, sir.

That’s a great take G. It’s tough for kids to put on weight the “right” way, but Detroit has a good staff for that. I have a friend who was doing press stuff years ago. When Jiri Fischer took over development, he came in and saw a bagle table. He had it all taken out. Nothing but whole grain stuff and fruits. He stays in contact with all these kids and helps a ton

Thanks M2! Agreed on both. I forget how good Mantha can be and then he blows you out of the water. Just needs to, as you said, stay healthy. Zadina has a really good shot. I’m excited about this kid

Jiri Fischer was a physical specimen so I want him around these young players as much as possible. He was recently promoted so I don't know if he will be around them as much.

He was a workout warrior from Day 1. Ate and trained the right way. It's so unfortunate his career was cut short because of his heart problems. He was so good in that 2002 Cup run playing with Chelios.

You’re spot on, sir. I think we the early departure of Vladdy, people tend to forgot how good he was. There are some good videos on YouTube that show some of his battles in the playoffs that year.

Hope he’s still around to teach the kids how to make it.

No doubt any ice time will help...as long as it's helpful; Need the team Z would play for to understand the developmental goals for him, solid work-outs to strengthen weaker areas, improve existing skill-sets, work on that God-given laser beam shot. I think it's a good idea, but must be controlled, managed, supervised with an eye keen for NHL players of Zs potential. If this kid gains more speed, knowledge, strength....the possibilities are mind-numbing.
Z is a potential stud, may have the capability to be a super star, if he's trained properly and uses that insane work ethic to improve. Plus, I think it would set a precedent for the younger kids....this could he a very good thing for the Wings.

The Wings have had some bad luck with players. Konstantinov and Fischer having their careers cut short. Even Kozlov getting in a car accident before he came to Detroit. But do you guys remember Grigorenko? He looked like he had "star" written all over him. He was named MVP of the WJC. Looked like a bull in a China shop. Could score and dominate against future NHLers.

But then he got in a bad car accident and developed an embolism. He eventually recovered and came back but was never the same player. He lost that burst in his step and was just an average player. I always felt bad for him. What could've been, eh? I think he would've been an NHL star but we'll never know.

Thanks for the post Jeremy! Always good to see something relative about the Wings! Enjoy the speculative posts also! It must be a chore to provide for readers that are hungry for some news in these doldrum days of sport!

Good, keep them working out and playing, hopefully things are under control over there and they can maintain their hockey programs.

Strange times we are living in right now. I've been watching a lot of baseball the past few days and the empty stadiums, the weird giant cutouts, and the ambient crowd noise is just really odd.

My wife showed me where you’d an “sponsor” a cutout of yourself to be in the stands. I wonder if you can sponsor a cutout of being an idiot running on the field. It’d give the batters something to aim for
