Reminds me too much of Dylan Strome, whom also had high OHL production but skates like his feet is in cement |

The (frank)in abuse Vanek took (and apparently still takes) on here after getting cross checked in the lower back about 100 times a game and STILL leading the team in goals is mind blowing. |

He had issues and physical problems, but what a talent. I'd want him on the ice as much as possible too. - Michael Pachla
You can't have it both ways if he wasn't abused he probably be on the pk
The things he did without a true center was incredible if vanek was with jack he easily be 1v 1 against OV IMO |

If Rossi or Raymond are gone I think we will take
Jarvis or Quinn - gerbe75pts
Let me guess, they are both 5'6" 130 lbs, lol.
Both sound good, but I'm suspicious of players who either heat up super hot for the last half of their draft year, or are nearly a year older in their draft year and dominate against 16 year olds.
They would be worth a risk in 10 - 15 if a team had an earlier pick that could be spent on more conventional prospects. Too much risk at 8...sounds a lot like Mitts to me.
We shall see though. |

Eichel-Cozens-Lundell would be a solid backbone for many years to come.
With Olofsson, Skinner, Reinhart, Kahun.
I’m not against adding a Holtz at all however. I just think if we solve our problems down the middle, everyone will realize how overblown our supposed problems on the wing are. |

Jarvis is an everything player plays pk ,pp ,sniper, playmaker ,annoying on the forcheck and the fastest player in the WHL it finally just clicked for him 63 points in the last 26 games is just crazy |

You jump all over Mitts for being out of shape yet you defend the Austrian Chub Master as being abused. Why? |

You'll be waiting a bit for Cozens and will be disappointed if you settle on that group of wingers.

The narrative that Vanek:
A.) Wasn't tough
B.) Didn't try
Is, was, and always will be utter bullpoop. The guy made it look effortless, that's different than not trying. He took an absolute beating in front of the net
He gave it his all and might have been a HOFer if he had a consistent 1C instead of Roy, Ott, Adam, Leino and Hodgson. Along with Miller, they could have accomplished a lot if they had the supporting cast. He could have had 5 40-goal seasons
He and Pominville did it all without a consistent center |

Also, this is the same poop that gets Reinhart a ton of hate. It's not his fault the rest of the roster is utter garbage. Reinhart is not the same talent level as Vanek, but he gets the same level of hate because the team sucks ass |

Vanek was a bit of an enigma. He had a great shot, good goal scorer but some games you would wait for him to show up. Was he tough because he stood in front of the net? In that regard sure, but not in the corners so much. Good player, and if many liked him more than me, fine, not worth the hill to die on.

Vanek was an elite wing talent that was utterly wasted on a team that searched from '07-'13 to find anyone who could reasonably be called a 1C. The Sabres wasted him. That's not his fault. |

He was a warrior x sabre players have said his back would be destroyed after every game - gerbe75pts
he refused to go on the ice when he was told to kill a penalty
and he was about 15 percent of the teams cap
that would be like ralph asking eichel to kill a penalty and jack said no and jack made 18 mil a year |

If they knew they couldn't get him a center and that was his excuse as well then they should have taken the 4 1st round picks and not looked back.
