My bet is Askarov will be playing before anyone else that gets drafted at 8.
- junaka3

I dont agree with that ...

I'm only drafting Askarov if we get another top ten pick or my players are gone

But he's going to be one the best goaltenders in the league

You drafted Mittelstadt 8th overall. 3 full seasons later, he still hasn’t made it. I’ll stick with my prediction. Sabre’s goaltending is counting on an eye doctor. Askarov is best goalie prospect in awhile.

It depends if Rossi or Raymond are gone then yes ..

And I'm also in the believe he will be one of the best in the league with Sorokin

I thought long and hard about putting ramsey on the list, but he was so damn good, not sure if I could consider him underrated

Excellent blog. Agree with your points completely. Hasek was the best of the era. Roy was second, then likely Hank and then Brodeur.

I wonder if Stutzle is tanking his draft position the past couple of days.

He’s looked god awful against the Swiss U20 team in their friendlies.

I’m guessing you haven’t been able to see the bias in the media for quite some time. Obama laughed at Romney during the presidential debate and didn’t support the Ukraine after Russia annexed Crimea. And let’s not forget the hot mic moment of Obama stating he’d have more flexibility after the election or Bill’s unauthorized meeting with Putin as well as the speaking fees. Not to mention the Russian narrative completely falling apart. But you are right. I can’t think for myself. Both sides suck. I rather have Perot at this point and I think he’s dead.

My absolute Fav player of all time. biased as I was a Goalie during his prime.

A more telling stat for Dom was how he played head to head vs Roy and Brodeur. He had absolutely dominant numbers when he faced them. Both in the NHL and the international stage. Another tidbit is he narrowly got edged by both Jagr and Fedorov or could have posted 4 league MVPS both years he was MVP by his peers.

Think of the other goalies during his prime Belfour, Joseph, Van beezer, Luongo, Roy and Brodeur and he was literally a perennial Vezina winner.

Was simply a joy to watch

if he hadn't played in Buffalo i think he would be easily considered the greatest goalie in the NHL ever... but since Roy played in Montreal and broduer won 3 cups they get joined into that conversation.

so agreed on that

he could have been one of the greatest sabres ever

skinner with his .383 goals per game is a bust but vanek is almost a god with his .424 goals per game

vanek had a much higher % of the teams cap as well, and stayed out all night gambling and dictating to the coach when and when he won't take a shift

the greatest games I ever saw from a goalie

1. dom vs the devils in the playoffs
2. dom in the 2 medal games in the 98 Olympics
3. jim craig vs russia in miracle on ice game
4. don edwards beating red army in 1980
5. sauve back to back playoff shutouts
