Off the wall mega-trade

Buffalo sends
-Sam Reinhart ($7.0m?)
-Rasmus Ristolainen ($5.4m)
-Brandon Montour ($4.0m?)
-Johan Larsson ($1.9m)

To

Edmonton, for:
- Ryan Nugent- Hopkins ($6.0m)
- Darnell Nurse ($5.6m)
- Andreas Anthanasiou ($3.5m?)
- Kailer Yamamoto ($0.9m)

Gives Edmonton scoring to replace RNH, defensive F ace, and 2 RhD they need.
Sabres get 2C than can shift to wing in future, a young, upcoming RW, toughness at LhD, and 3C/3W.

- IonSabres

Think we lose in every aspect of that trade.

Sam > RNH
Risto > nurse
Montour > anthanasiou
Larson > Yamamoto. Although that can flip at any time due to potential.

RNH is pretty much a winger now. Why are we doing this???

oh it gets better

the part after the dot dot dot

"It was intentional. It was a filthy, dirty kick to the back of the leg," Maurice said. "You can't see it on the program feed, but take the blue-line feed and you zoom in. He went after the back of the leg. He could have cut his Achilles. He could have ended the man's career. It's an absolutely filthy, disgusting hit."

Has the blue line feed been released? Because none of the angles on the telecast are conclusive. Almost any other player gets the benefit of the doubt.

I’m just saying. If u really want to trade Carter Hutton put him on the next plane to Edmonton. He’s better than both those clowns with no eyes.

Sam is better than RNH? Not sure how you come to that conclusion. I's say even. RNH plays W because of McDavid and Draisaitl. He can switch back to C for a year or 2, then go to RW when/if Cozens supplants him at 2C.

Risto and Nurse are the same, IMO. Trading a redundant 2nd RhD for a 2nd LhD we are in need of.

Larsson and AA are very, very different players for sure, AA has more offensive production but isn't interested in the D, and Larry is strong on the D and can't break 20 points. Different sides of the same coin IMO.

Now, Montour for Yamamoto. Trading g another redundant 2nd RhD for a young F producing at 0.95PPG this season...granted a small 27 game sample. He'd look good next to either Eichel or RNH

Olofsson - Eichel - Yamamoto
Skinner - RNH - Cozens
Mojo - AA - Kahun
Asplund - Lazar - Okposso

Dahlin - DeMelo
Nurse - Joker
McCabe - Miller
Borgen

I'd be ok with it for a year.
Deal AA at TDL, extend RNH.

Anthanasiou is a Center?

How much and for how long are you giving to RNH when he will be 28?

Are you comfortable paying him $8M per? For 6 or more years?

He will be looking for a pay day.

Is a forward core of Eichel ($10M), Skinner ($9M), and RNH ($8M) good enough? I'm skeptical.

There's nothing much on the western side of the storm. Just an overcast, breezy to windy day with occasional rain showers with gustier winds moving through. Eye went past approximately 30 miles offshore of here, we've had several afternoon t-storms this summer that were far more intense.

My post ended with " I'd be ok with it for a year".
By that, I would sign AA on a 1 year deal...trade at TDL if it isn't working to their benefit. I'm thinking that I gave up Larry only for him..no big deal to trade him out IMO.

As far as RNH goes, I would count on the flat cap keeping Cap hits down for a 2 or 3 year term. Say extend him for 2 at $7.5m (a little more than Sam) ...that is 3 years of use, plenty of time for Cozens and 2020-1st to arrive and contribute in their top 6 roles. At the end, trade him out at that TDL.

Keep in mind Yamamoto...very promissing, albeit small sample size but looks to be on track with his draft profile.

I don't think there's any way RNH would take a 2 or 3 year deal at age 28.

Sam and his age when his next contract will end will be superior to RNH and when his next future contract will end. I’ll pay Reinhart in a max to hes 31 over RNH who will want a contract until he’s 36. That is a huge swing to Reinhart.
