because 16.2% is unsustainable that was the benchmark he set for himself as a rookie...12.4 is solid and 9.9 might be a little low...

his shots are down as well but the team is better and it's been said he was working on other aspects of his game, which may be the reason his defensive numbers are up, as you mentioned...

the things that worry me more than bagging on his shooting percentage is his injury problems and his high rate of o-zone starts as well as the fact that he scores almost a third of his goals and points on the powerplay
