where are they moving when terry passes on

where are the bills moving to?

- homiedclown

The Sbares have maybe 1 or 2 places to go.

The Bills would have cities lining up to get them.

Pick a state that doesn't have an NFL team and they could go there and be more profitable.

IMO the Bills are more in jeopardy of leaving than the Sabres.

I have always contended that if the league could move the Bills and the Packers without the PR backlash, they would in a second.

Agreed, but I think the NFL wouldn't be opposed to the Packers building a stadium in Milwaukee as well.

I also don't think the NFL had St. Louis in mind as their first choice of a relocation to LA.

They could play in the Killer Whale Tank.

They could hire back Doug Whaley.

Knowing all this, what would it take to get a deal done?
Step One

Include your best player under 26. Then add a secondary valuable piece. The extremely few players who are better than Eichel are not being traded so the team trading for him would be getting the best player in the deal. This means including one of your best superstar players to make it work.

Reading every trade proposal on the internet shows an extreme lack of any real elite talent under 30 which would leave any Eichel talk at the no-start stage.

Using the teams listed above the starting point for each team could be:

Montreal: Premiere Piece – Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Secondary Piece – Cole Caufield

San Jose: Premiere Piece – Tomas Hertl, Secondary Piece – Ryan Merkley

Anaheim: Premiere Piece – Maxime Comtois, Secondary Piece – 2020 First-Round Pick (Sixth Overall)

Note that this would be a starting point. With Buffalo not looking to move Eichel these offers alone would likely not get it done. Other picks or prospects would need to be included.
Step Two

Do not try to include a garbage contract back to make room for Eichel’s $10M AAV. If a contract like that is required to come back, further assets would be required to sweeten the deal for Buffalo. The price to absorb a bad contract for a year or two would be a pick in the bottom half of the first round or two extremely high second-round picks. This price to move a bad contract is well established throughout the league.

Eichel is a great player on a bad team. He’d be even greater on a good one. And no, your favorite club won’t be able to take advantage of the Sabres’ dysfunctional front office to steal away their captain. Unless Eichel forces the issue, and there’s no indication he’s going to anytime soon, they have no intention of trading their franchise player.

That doesn't give them a free pass.

Their arrogance and stubbornness to change how they operate at the top of the hockey department is insulting to this fanbase.

Because LaFontaine didn't work out, they refuse to revisit the PoHO and hire someone with ACTUAL HOCKEY KNOWLEDGE to run it.

Did they save the franchise only to ruin it, one non playoff year at a time?

I get you have a personal relationship or whatever, but the “what don’t you people get” is rich. They’re absolutely clueless owners. And the results are the proof.

It’s also starting to become apparent they aren’t very good people either.

I hope they sell the Sabres
